Hillpoint Woods is indeed in a very convenient location. The apartments are VERY small for the price you pay. You think that they could give you some actual living space when they are charging close to $1000 for rent. Not happening here. Place is very well lit and feels secure although if you do not lock your deadbolt your bottom lock can easily be picked. I learned this first hand when my husband locked himself out once and then again when a neighbor on the other side of the complex locked herself out and her two year old inside. My husband heard her cries and grabbed a credit card. In a matter of minutes if not seconds the woman was reunited with her daughter. Is that safe' Management should mention it on make a change to all of the locks. Now when it comes time to moveout, expect to have to pay for something. They are ridiculous. Do they know what normal wear and tear means' They know you have no choice to pay it because who can afford to go get a lawyer for being charged less than $1000 and most people forget to take their own photos. And when asked to supply their "proof", they give you answers such as "Seeing the photos will not change what you owe". Well I would think that seeing the photos would show PROOF and their would be no argument. Obviously not because I was never presented with the photos after several requests. Remember to TAKE YOUR OWN PICTURES ON MOVE OUT because photos are about your only legal recourse. Make sure to put a dated newspaper on something in a few of the photos as well. Blinds in apartment sliding glass doors are CHEAP and fall apart easily. BEWARE YOU WILL BE CHARGED. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.

Brand new apartments and you refer to wear and tear? Move in and move out inspections are there for a reason. DUH. I lived there and loved it. I had no problems or charges. The apartments were very well kept. But then again my neighbor was a PIG. She invited me over one day and I was shocked at the damage her family did to a new apartment.maybe that is why they take pictures and charge people. I have to say the staff then was great! That was just 3 months ago so I know not much has changed other than the Manager. Same nice Maintenace man.

I can guarantee it was not the people on premise that gave me the difficulty. They were fine. It was upper management in Va. Beach. My problem was not with them taking pictures it was with them NOT ALLOWING me to see them as I had requested. My thoughts exactly on wear and tear. If they had proof of MAJOR damage my request would have been met and I would not have had to write the review I did. I have never lived in an apartment complex like this nor EVER been charged for anything in apartments over the past 7 years. Maybe I should have been there for the checkout. Work prevented that. I am glad you had a great experience. NOT EVERYONE AT HILLPOINT DOES!
