Don't do it. It's a waste of your life.

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
This place was an absolute nightmare. From the constantly running toilet that after many attempts they never fixed which also led to multiple water bills over $100 until I shut off all the water in the main bathroom and used the small bathroom. Then there was the yellow stains on the ceiling and walls that everytime they came to fix it it came back a week later. Oh yeah the cracks in the ceiling that get wider as you live there. Then there's the kitchen, the day I moved in I had to chase a cockroach the size of a small dog around the apartment and spray him in the face with a can of bug killer which he drank like it was water only to have him dissappear under the stove to make babies (who returned 8 months later for a little revenge on me over spraying their dad with bug killer). The sink never stopped dripping (pouring) which no one could fix. I could go on about the other things like the mold, the trash that piles up at the dumpster, the paint that peels off the walls magically but the best part of all is the screw job they do to you when you try to leave. So my lease was up around August 31, 2006 and they had just sent me a renewal letter in July which I had turned back into them on August 1st with my rent telling them that I would not be signing a new lease and would go month to month until November 1st when I would be moving into a new apartment. Sounds like I gave them 90 days notice right' Wrong!!! When October rent came around I went into the office to pay rent for October and to find out what I needed to do to move out on November 1st, which they inform me that they have misplaced or never recieved my notice and now I needed to write a new letter and give 60 days notice which would run through December. So now after hearing this I had to push back my move in date at my new apartment (which is awesome by the way and much better than Ashbrook in many ways and brand new and cheaper LIVE AT BRENNEMAN FARMS) to November 15th, which I paid a prorated rent and asked to be billed upon move out for what I owed in rent. So the apartment manager gives me her business card with the amount of rent I would owe on the back. Now I new there would be some fees added on but to my amazement not only was the amount of rent I owed different it was $1600 more than what she told me. Now I don't mind paying a cleaning fee for somethings but this place will nickel and dime you to death not to mention try to screw you into paying more than what you should actually owe for the time you were there. Now the girls in the office were nice and friendly but it's the people at the main office that are rude and will not let you speak at all. When I gave the office my forwarding address (which they lost) I hear about my invoice and everything I now owe from their legal department. I have since then found a copy of my original notice to vacate that I turned in and still have the card with the amount of rent I would owe if I vacated the apartment on the 15th and yet they will not look at any of that. WHATEVER YOU DO DON"T MOVE HERE AND I HOPE THOSE NICE GIRLS IN THE RENTAL OFFICE END UP AT A BETTER COMPLEX BECAUSE THE COMPANY THEY WORK FOR IS GIVING THEM A BAD NAME.
