Like every apartment complex there comes the good and the bad.

The Good:

??The view. If possible, when renting from this complex, try for an apartment in the 3420s-3440s. The view on the even numbered apartments is fantastic. You have trees, a park, a pond and a nice grassy area with a picnic table in the corner. The sun shines enough in your windows to give you light and warmth.

??It??s open. The apartment itself has only 3-4 windows. However, the way the windows are set up (one in the dining room and bedroom and the large sliding glass door in the living room) makes the apartment feel larger. If you get an upstairs apartment, you??ll have the extra window in the laundry room.

??The luxuries. Each apartment has a large living room, kitchen and bedroom. The bedroom??s window is a window seat. Some apartments have fireplaces in their living rooms. You have at least four closets in the apartment. Each apartment has a washing machine, electrical stove and oven, a medium sized refrigerator and freezer. There is enough cabinet space in the kitchen for a small family. If you have an upstairs apartment you??ll have a balcony, while the downstairs?? tenants have a cement patio. Each apartment comes with a small storage room off of the balcony or patio.

??If you live in the back of the community you won??t hear the noise from Holland Road. We lived in the 3430s ??block?? and we did not hear any of the noise from traffic. I imagine that if you live in the apartments right off the road, you??ll hear the traffic. Try to rent an apartment towards the end of the complex.

The Bad:

??The noise. The walls are thin and you will hear what your neighbors are listening to. You can call the Office Emergency Line (anytime during the day or night) about the noise disturbance. However, doing this more than two or three times will cause the Office to become annoyed with your complaining. They will tell you, in common terms, to suck it up. You will have to put up with your neighbors as long as both of you are under your respective leases. The police will say the same thing. Good luck.

??For people living in a downstairs apartment: The Muscovy ducks. There are Muscovy ducks that frequent the property (both male and female, and during the season, ducklings). If you do not place something on your patio, the ducks might sleep there during the night. And as the male duck can defecate up to a pound of feces during the day, you can imagine the problem this will create.

??The parking. Depending on where your apartment is you??ll only have (on average) seven parking spaces outside your ??block?? of apartments. And depending on who your neighbors are, they will have up to two or more cars per apartment. Each block is made of at least nine apartments. Doing the math, you realize that there are not enough cars for each apartment (if each tenant only had one car). If you??re lucky, you??ll have a parking space in front of your door. However, be prepared to park either on the opposite side of the parking lot (the lot is in a ??U?? shape) or down next to another ??block?? of apartments.

??The jet noise. You do become accustomed to the noise from the Navy planes that do maneuvers over the complex and neighboring neighborhoods. However, if you have a pet or small child sensitive to noise, you may want to look to rent an apartment elsewhere.

So, if you want a nice view and don??t mind hearing what your neighbors are listening to: this apartment complex is a match made in heaven for you!

3520 is not on the pond side of the complex, but on the other side near Lowes and Auburn Place strip mall...it is a little noisier over there. You should look it up on google maps to and click on "streetview" to get a better idea of where it is.
