How do I feel about these apartments'

Love the apartment layout, love the garage, love the well-lit streets. Love the pet-friendly residents and staff. Love the water hookups in my very own driveway so I can wash my car. Love that I can have a barbecue grill and grill out on my driveway. Love the pet-friendly atmosphere.

Hated the neighborhood/situation that I moved into initially when I first got here.

Evidently previous management was under some pressure to sign leases and didn't do thorough background checks because when I first moved in there were lots of unruly people here. Loud, raucous parties on weekends that would spill out of the apartments into the driveways and streets. Car and motorcycle clubs (we won't say "gangs") moved in and you were taking your life in your hands just trying to cross the street in front of your apartment for fear of getting run over by a 90 mph vehicle streaking by, going airborne over the speed bumps (and before you think badly of the very serious speed bumps on the property, remember the 90mph people ... I'm not kidding!)

Parking was an issue, too, once upon a time. Several apartments appeared to have about 20 people living there and each person had at least one car. I don't share a driveway, but some of the bigger apartments do. That means you need to be courteous about where you park so you don't block your neighbor. If you block your neighbor, you will be towed, even from your own driveway, which is probably what happened to the gentleman who reviewed the apartments previously. The parking situation has improved greatly. I don't know if it's because the residents of the heavily inhabited apartments were gently encouraged to move out when their leases came up, or if it is the addition of more on street parking. Whatever it is, the situation is much, much better, and I attribute that to the management staff.

Once new management took over, things changed for the better. For a while it seemed like there were 3-4 moving vans/day, removing people who had either been evicted or found that their leases were not eligible for renewal, or those who were leaving because they didn't like the situation they found themselves in. Now it's a quiet, clean, safe neighborhood and I love it here! Occasionally you'll hear someone's car stereo thumping and bumping as they pass by, but that's about it for the loud noises.

As the person who reviewed this remarked, these are very quiet apartments. Yes you hear the garages, but I don't think it's a problem. The only reason that would bother me is if I heard MY garage opening when I knew it wasn't me opening it! (And just in case you are worried about that, there are locks on the inside of the garage that will keep your garage from being opened inadvertently.) I actually don't even notice the garage door noises anymore; I'm just glad that I have one! It's the main reason I moved here. That, and the washer/dryer in every apartment. When I was looking at apartments initially, there were very few communities that included a washer/dryer, which to me is ridiculous. For the amount of money involved, there had better be a dedicated washer/dryer in my apartment!

The only negative thing I found about my apartment itself is that it has a very bad draft (we're talking gale force wind) that comes in all around the front door. I think the problem could be that the door is not hung properly, but regardless of what was causing it, what I was concerned with was fixing it! In the end, I hung a curtain and basically closed off the entry when it was super-cold outside. Luckily the winter wasn't very long, and I found that I liked the curtain so well that I've kept it up. It looks nice and muffles noise from outside.

I know that the other reviewer had problems with the maintenance staff that used to be here, but they have been replaced. The new staff is really nice, very responsive and I've found them all to be courteous and friendly. The majority of maintenance requests I've made have been handled that same day, and at the speed of light! I can understand some of the problems with the previous staff: when I talked to one of the maintenance men (who is no longer here)about a concern I had about a potential electrical short, he said "don't worry, you won't burn to death, that's why we have the sprinklers!" which I think was his way of being reassuring (gotta give him points for the effort.) So, I guess you could say the previous maintenance staff maybe lacked a few 'people' skills. ;D

The same can not be said of the current maintenance and leasing staff, and management. Jennifer, the assistant manager, is wonderful! Actually, I shouldn't just mention her, because the whole staff is great.

I've loved living here and odds are, you will too! uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax

I didn't live here during the time of the 90 mph drivers...thank goodness, LOL but, I agree with most everything else this user says about these apartments. I do want to note on the gale force winds...LOL Not only was our front door hung improperly and we could see outside through a crack in the door but, our balcony door is not hung straight either...and neither are any of the bedroom/bathroom doors. We get a horrible draft in the master bedroom so everytime the AC shuts off it sounds like someone is snapping their fingers and freaks my husband out at night. We have learned to "ignore" the neighbors garage doors...although either the other end of the building or the large dump trucks at the landfill cause an "earthquake" over here and EVERYTHING shakes in my apartment (we live facing the landfill but, not against the fence).
