Ok, I responded to a post when we first moved in here Jan. 08.

Now that I have lived here for almost 3 years I'm really glad to be moving.
The apartments are nice. Too small for the price we pay. Ridiculous.

The first year we lived here we had our car towed about 4 times. Everytime it was because of the registration. Ok, we understand that but, we didn't have the money to get the clutch fixed...it was Prelude. Apparently, it had been broken into because the towing company said that some "black guy" got out of it. Yea, well I think that was lie. The towing company had agreed to the fact that since it needed repairs they wouldn't tow it anymore and if there was a sticker on it to give them a call so they would remember not to tow it. They had also claimed to talk to the front office so we could park it over by the maintenance shed. Well, it got towed because a neighbor complained. Seriously??? Now, we don't have that car anymore...thanks a lot -------!

Anyhow, ever since we moved in we have had serious issues with Cavalier Telephone and DSL. After all the complaining the office had them cap the neighborhood at 2Mbps. Which we barely get to begin with. So, at certain times the internet just crashes. DirecTV has been nice and rarely goes out since there are 2 dishes on each building. But, it just really sucks that Verizon owns the lines yet, we are stuck with crappy DSL. You can't switch to anyone else and you can't even use Cox Cable (not that I would want to anyhow). The neighbors are pretty friendly, at least the ones that have remained here since we moved in. There is a LOT of turn around here. The neighbors that just moved out a few months ago (thank goodness) were really loud and revved motorcycles in their garage. They would play loud music at 2am. Their garage was right over my kids' room so, they couldn't sleep. Parking is definitely a nightmare and several residents think they own the place and park in the middle of the street where no one can pull in or out of their garages. There isn't enough visitor parking and the parking that is available is forever away.

We haven't had any bugs except ants and spiders and silverfish in the garage. The silverfish have been coming in due to us moving and bringing in old boxes.
Very seldom do I ever hear neighbors through the walls. There really isn't much crime in the area and it very close to Hwy 64. It's usually quiet at night and no one really bothers you.

The management is very nice. The first manager left not long after we moved in but, the assistant manager became the new one and another lady took her place. There's a new leasing agent but, the other leasing agent has been here since we moved in as well. They know what they're doing and they will usually do whatever they can to help you out.

The only things I don't like are they don't have an RPP for military, you can't pay your rent/water online, and the monopolized utilities. I also don't like the fact that they did not make us aware of specific move out rules regarding military personnel and terminating your lease before it ends.

The water smells and the buildings shake from the trucks at the landfill. They claim to be building another phase behind this one once the hole in the ground is filled but, I don't think so. Also, from all the shaking (like an earthquake) there are cracks in the ceiling and walls from the building settling after it shakes.

Other than that, it's an ok place to live.

Go to Lakes of Greenbrier Apts. They have a rating of over 90%, the highest I have ever seen!!!!! You don't have to deal with alot of different people telling you many different things. Only 2 people work in the office and the maintenance staff is friendly and great. Grounds are always kept nice and you can drive through there any time and it is always peaceful!!!!!
