Baker Crossing Apartments formerly Briarwood Apartments

I don't know how it was a while ago, or how bad it was, but what I saw last night and this morning was pretty good to me. I'm from the south, so I like big places and at nearly 1300 square feet, the 2 bedrooms are nice. I am planning on moving in the beginning of the month in December, and I am indeed looking forward to it. I do prefer gated communities tho. As far as management, I haven't met them yet. It look like there will be ample parking, I don't know really.. because there was a lot of construction going on. But again, the apartment that I saw today was very nice and I will be looking more into it. I could give you horror stories about other apts I've lived in but there were also good things about the old apartments too and it wouldn't be nice to just complain about what I "didn't" like about the apartment. I'm sure there will be something here that I probably won't like but life isn't perfect.

The purpose of the site is to help provide people with information to assist them in their apartment hunting so that they can make an informed decision. The purpose is NOT to refrain from hurting the landlords feelings. The complaints are similar...so the problems are obviously real and on-going. If they are a good management team, they will get good reviews, or AT LEAST few bad ones. There are 50 different reviews for this complex and they still have a low total score. Obviously there is a problem. But if you want good...here's the good: There IS ample parking, the apartments are large, and the renovations are beautiful! But a home is more than cosmetic appeal. Those three pro's do not outweigh the cons. You want to feel safe, comfortable, valued, welcome, and as though you're getting close to your money's worth.I would suggest doing a neighborhood crime check before moving to any neigborhood. Virginia Beach has an on-line accesible system, which is open to the public or you can call your local police station. Trust me...I just moved from there a few months ago.

Anywhere you move there will be crime. The landlords don't pay anyone's bills so we don't have areason to defend them. The point is there were problems in the past and you have to give the new management a chance before you start degrading them. I have several friends who live in these apartments and neither one of them has complained about anything. If you have a pest problem then you should keep your place clean. I never had a roach or rat to come across my view in a whole year. They are pest who cling to the nasty bottom line.
