I have lived here for years and have come to realize that the problems do not stem from the staff in the office or the maintenance staff. The real problem is with the GREAT ATLANTIC MANAGEMENT COMPANY. They are unwilling to give the staff the money and or materials needed to make Bancroft Hall the gem it could be in the Hilltop area. Great Atlantic is very unwilling to put out the money to make the units nice inside. It is a battle to get a 30 year old stove that is falling apart replaced. Carpeting is not replaced when it needs to be. A maintenance man was fired several years ago because he replaced my old broken dishwasher with a new one! He was told to fix it instead. It could not be fixed! I say give the staff a break and focus on the real problem, which is Great Atlantic unwilling to invest in their property on First Colonial Road. They fire anyone who is willing to make it nice. A shame since there have been staff who wanted to make a difference, ESPECIALLY THE CURRENT STAFF. I guess ------ the owner enjoys the title of SLUM LORD of the Hilltop area.
