we have had massive issues since day 1 of our move in and have only lived here 4 months. first day of move in the fridge didnt work, i turned on the shower and the shower head plate wasnt screwed in all the way and water sprayed allll over the bathroom, fire extinguisher was broken...closet doors are broken. my dad came over and his car was towed in 20mins..i did tell him to park in visitor parking but it was full because residents also park there..so what was he suppose to do'' a few weeks ago our kitchen sinked was clogged so maintenance came and said it was fixed...2 days later it happened again and they sent a plumber who said he fixed it..2 days later our bedroom flooded, they sent a carpet cleaner!! he just vacuumed the carpet and put 3 loud fans under the carpet and we had to sleep on our couch..the next day 5 plumber came over and cut a huge hole in our wall in our bedroom..they said they would be back to finish the next day so then the maintenance office lady said she would send someone to install new carpet..well she actually sent someone to install new pading only...WHY WOULD YOU INSTALL NEW PADDING UNDER WET CARPET'!'! so i called her and she had a massive attitude problem so then maintenace came back and started cutting up my carpet and asked where i wanted my bedroom furntiure moved to and i told them the living room..then i hear one of them tell the other one he got off in 30mins so they needed to hurry up..next thing i know another person shows up and tlls me they are not aloud to touch my personal items and i needed to move the furntiure myself and theyd be back tomorrow to finish removing my carpet. that night we moved our furntiture out and in to the living room...the next day plumbers come back and apparently got something stuck in a pipe underground..had 5 plumbers in our apt 10 hours a day from monday through monday of the following week. eventually got new carpet. called apt manager atleast 15times and every single time was told she was about to go in to a meeting and would call back..never called back..showed up at her office and asked what the deal was because we couldnt use our kitchen or bedroom for a week and a half so didnt feel like we should have to pay full rent...she said she was waiting on us to get our electricity bill but all they could give us was 100 off rent..it was the 3rd rent was due by the 5th and electricity bill didnt come till the 10th...wow shes a genious. so i told her that the elctricity bill had nothing to do with rent if all they could do was take off 10 off rent so i payed her 700 instead of 800 right then and there and she said that was fine...3 days get a noticed saying we didnt pay rent and owed 180 dollars. DO NOT EVER LIVE HERE. crime rate is rediculous. witnessed a guy beat up his girlfriend 2 weeks ago...oh and someone got murdered here last night. very dark poor lighting, shouldve looked up the police reports before moving here. oh another thing dont get one with a washer and dryer because it will take you 3 cycles to dry a small load of laundry and they will tell you its because of ventilation laws and "just use the laundry facility" why would i pay to use the laundry facility when i pay for a washer and dryer''

City Code inspector is 757-385-4421. Lived there several years ago, had similar problems, do not miss the fans that we always seemed to have running an paying for. Had sewage water through our apartment at least ten times and when we moved out they tried to tell us our dog peed on the rug and they would not return deposit. Had to call the city inspector when we flooded and they refused to redo the carpet. I still have code inspector on speed dial, you should too. We had a guy shot right in front of our door around Christmas one year, he was not killed though. They don't charge like a ghetto but they sure are. Its nice to walk to the beach but thats it. Do not go to Emerald Point on your way out another nasty Dump we are in Eastwind Apartments now and like it very much. Birdneck kicked us out after we called the city code inspector on them when our lease was up, be prepared if you fight them they will not renew your lease...but you are better off.
