I don't even know where to start. I moved in Feb 19 and I was out of there on the 21. The moment I got my keys and opened the door I was in shock. It looked absolutely NOTHING like the model. I chose to live there b/c of the location, the price, the amenities they offer and they way the model looked. (NEVER sign the lease without actually seeing the apartment you will move into!) Biggest mistake of my life. Here's the list of of problems with my apartment.
*The front door didn't shut all the way and prevented me from locking the door.
*The wooden frame around my fireplace was rotten and had a huge hole on the bottom where you could actually stick things through.
*Cracks that ran the entire length of the wall and ceiling throughout the entire apartment.
*Flithy carpet!!!!
*I had an electrical socket covering on the floor and the rest were only held in by 1 screw instead of 4.
*The sliding glass door to my balcony wouldn't lock b/c it was completely broken.
*The sliding screen for the deck wasn't even on the track but laying on the balcony itself and it had holes in it.
*There was the BIGGEST pile of pigeon poop on my deck and the deck was never power washed.
*The kitchen floor had major sink holed in it. They told me it was the building settling but that doesn't create sink holes in the ground.
*The cabinets were extremely old and haven't been replaced or painted since the apartment complex was built. Management actually told me this. Also it was mildewy.
*I had burn marks on the counter tops and the stove needed to be replaced.
*The washer and dryer were flithy and the slidding doors that covered them were rusted at the bottom meaning that something had flooded in there.
*The bathrooms were the worst. The master bathroom floor was rotten and the whole flooring had to be replaced. The flooring around the tub wasn't even on the ground but curled up from extensive water damage and the woodwork around the bathroom was rotten and all need to be replaced. Also more of the sink holes they claimed was due to the place settling. Too bad it was rotten floor boards. I wouldn't know it they actually pulled all the flooring up and replaced it like they said since I moved out after two days.
*There was powered rust on the light fixtures in the bathroom.
*The spare bathroom was almost as bad as the master. The floor wasn't in as bad shape but there was poop in my toilet when I never even used it. The shower curtain rod was laying in my tub and didn't fit and was rusted.
*The shelving in the closet is just partical board with primer (not even paint)and was soo warped and bent down nothing could be placed on it.
*The water heater closet had soo much mold in it and water damage it was enough to make me want to leave.

Thankfully I was able to break my lease without having to pay a penatly but that was only because I wouldn't let them take advantage of me anymore. Even after I showed a lady from management the apartment, they asked what they could do to make me stay. I told them nothing would ever make me stay here. They said legally they have 30 days to fix the problems but I told them that this shouldn't have been an issue b/c legally you can't move someone into an apartment that isn't ready to be lived in. I can't tell you the amount of overwhelming stress and helplessness I felt when I saw my new (old) apartment. From cancling the new power account I just set up, renters insurance, movers (twice since I moved out two days later), the cable people and so on, I spent a near fourtune. I moved across the street to Brenneman Farms quickly due to the fact I got no sleep and went through hell trying to figure out everything I needed to do to leave and find a new place. I was paying 1192 a month for a two bedroom two bath at Cahse Arbor and at Brenneman Farms I pay 1255 for a two bedroom two bath with more square feet, new everything and a safer environment for $63 more a month. My point is NEVER go near Chase Arbor! I went through hell doing all this by myself and I hope no one has to experience the torture of being treated like a pig! SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV

wow I know what you mean we moved into a 2 bed 2 bath feb 1st and we were breaking the lease within 2 weeks and we moved to shoreline apartments which is cheaper, bigger, and all brand new appliances its wonderful here and the day we moved out the sewer line busted all over in the 2nd bathroom and like you experienced, the ladies in the office wanted to know what they could do to make me stay i was like nothing at all could make me stay here not even if they gave me the whole year rent free and then i got "what would make you happy" i was like moving out and breaking this lease.
