so in the last two months my husband is attempting to move out of this place and has yet to be successful because in two months they have lost 4 of our checks!!! they then tell me to get a cashiers check which they lost and then when i finally got another check they magically found the first check they lost because they were too lazy to get off their butts in the first place to look for it. this time trying to pay a late payment that isnt even ours they lost the check again and when i confronted them on it asking how they lost 4 checks in 2 months and they must have an issue with their staff they blamed the entire situation on me that they lost the check and they didnt cash it then threatened to file a harassment suite against me cause i was asking them how its possible they could be this irresponsible. not only is there no communcation from the staff and they lie to your face but they blame you for their problems. there is mold all over the apartments and the ceiling caves in and they never replaces a bad window in the apartment. there is dog poop everywhere and horrible parking which they tow all the time for no reason and lots of drug dealers and cops there all the time because of problems scary horrible place to live do not support people that do not respect or care about their tenants! i repeat stay away. i am reporting them to the bbb today

No offense you make it sound like the ghetto. You must live in a totally different Chase Arbor. We have had our problems including them misplacing one of our checks. I noticed that you never said that they gave you a receipt for your checks, if you didn't get one no offense but you are dumb for not making them give you one. The only reason that they couldn't charge me for extra was because I went down and showed them my receipt, they were like "Oh well we can't find it" I said "That sounds like your problem, you can't charge be for you misplacing it". Later on they found it and had deposited it into the wrong account. Now I make all the rental payments IN PERSON, and get a receipt. Good luck in the future.

I lived there back in 2004. It's sad to see that nothing has changed. I myself was towed, subject to a moldy floor from a flood they would not clean for 2 weeks, and treated with the same attitude when I lived there. They spent money remodeling the clubhouse and redoing the landscaping instead of fixing basic structural problems. People often don't believe how awful this place is until it's too late. Once they have you in that lease, they sit on their laurels for as long as they can to milk as much money as they can out of this property before they are forced to demolish it. This *really* is a ghetto of VA Beach, even if it doesn't appear it at first. To address the receipt issue, I always got one, and it's a tough lesson to learn when the lack of one is misused against you. The point isn't the technicality, it's the spirit. A company that appears to purposely attempt to lose your payment sounds like someone I wouldn't trust my personal belongings to.

Anonymous #2 (in the reply), I hate to say that you're wrong, but in my expereince, that area IS the ghetto. Anonymous #1 makes it sound just about right. I lived at Chase Arbor for two years. I won't even begin to go into all of the problems we had with the property, but I will talk about the crime. In the last year that I was there we had three (3) police searches of the grounds (2 of which included helicopters with searchlights), one (1)fire response resulting from a domestic dispute in the neighboring building, and six (6) car break-ins in our building's parking lot and the lot next to us! Then, to top it all off, right before my roommate and I left, a guy was murderded in the parking lot on our side of the complex! ...stabbed to death in the area that we used to walk the dogs. After that, we got out of there! It was getting down right scary. Luckily, my roommate had a good friend who was a cop. He used to come by when things got really questionable to make sure that we were ok. I will never live in that area again! It looks nice on the outside, but if you do a little digging you'll find that there is an awful lot of questionable activity!

i am the same person that posted this in the first place and i have two receipts and its not good enough they have now lost the check for the 6th time and are still blaming it on me and are claiming that the manager has never dealt with it so thats why the issue was never taken care of, when i looked at my two receipts from one check they have lost 6 times it is signed both times by that dumb lazy manager edly.... horrible horrible place my fiance hasnt lived there for three months now and we are still dealing with these idiots i cannot wait to never speak to them again.... do not deal with these people i'm sure the first post was from their staff because anyone who has ever lived there has anything positive to say about that crappy ghetto
