These reviews are kinda stupid. You are only gonna here bad things on here, i mean only people that have no life and are unhappy do this kinda stuff. Get over it, its an apartment not a home. The rents not expensive and the apartments are pretty big. There not perfect but they were built in like the 70's. I live here and its not bad, like i said its just an apartment. Theres no shootings, its not ghetto, and its a roof over my head. I dont mind it and the areas perfect. Right next to the base. Well, i just wouldnt go by this stuff when tryin to find an apt.
Tryin to help.

Ya you must work there or you are blind. The rent is way to much, paid over $1100 just for a 2 bedrooms, the people we lived around were VERY ghetto and the staff is very rude. And its a 20 minute drive to the base....if theres no cars on the road. It takes almost 45 minutes because of traffic and the 100 stop lights! We lived there for 3 months and paid all those crazy fees to get out. Dont lie to these people, obviously its a horrible place if everyone else agrees.

ROFLMAO...How is this right next to any base? There is no Apartment near Oceana that is right next to it. Little Creek is about 20 minutes away along with Norfolk base. So you must be confused about something.
When we finally moved out (we moved to base housing as our daughter is handicap, we probably would of stayed there because nothing better was open) the moving people almost left when they were packing up our stuff, there where three mice living in our walls and had made home in a box. They don't know how to manage the killing of pests nor do they see the concern with people's health. We had problems with mold when we first moved in and I have heard numerous cases where the mold was horrible.
If you haven't opened the closet to where your hot water heater is, you ought to just for the fun of it. Don't wear a mask or anything either.

I definitely think that your opinion is completely invalid. Almost all the positive reviews of these apts were from people that worked here, email search in myspace proves it. The staff except for this one girl are terrible, bitchy rude and would rather give birth than help you. They have towed our car 2 times even though it had current registration, the CAA sticker and was in our assigned spot. If they get one more complaint to navy housing they are going to be taken off the rental partnership program.

I have to disagree with you about the apartments not being ghetto and there not being any shootings. I lived there about 2 years ago and my roommate and I ended up breaking our lease early because we didn't feel safe anymore. About two months prior to leaving, there were 6 car break-ins in our parking lot. The month before we left, a man was shot and killed near the entrance of the complex, just a half an hour after we had been out walking the dogs. Trust me, it was not our imagination! Police were all over the place for weeks afterwards. That's not to mention the two times we had police helicopters hovering over the place with spotlights twice during the year and a half we lived there. Luckily, we had a police officer friend that used to come stay with us when things got sketchy. This place was far worse than any apartment should be. I have continued to rent in the area, with realistic expectations, and have been much more satisfied than my experience at Chase Arbor - people are not exaggerating, nor are they being unrealistic with their expectations. It is not a place that I would ever recommend.

you are lying, you must work there. all of what you say is invalid and untrue. the crime rate is super high... check with VBPD. the rent is much higher than other apartments of equal value. and it is not "right next" to any base. i think you have Chase Arbor confused with another property...

I have to agree with everyone else. I lived here for five years and it just got worse every year. In the time I lived there 5 murders took place in the area, three within the complex itself. The leasing office and maintenance response times were a joke and good luck trying to get them to take care of any pest problems (rats!!) Once I was financially able I was out of there!
