I just recently moved out of Hunter Mills Apartments not by choice, but because I am Navy and I am moving out of the area. But if I was staying in Virginia Beach I would re new my lease with Hunter Mills Apartments for another year. First off the location of the apartments are awesome. I was right in the middle of everything. Only 10 miles from the Norfolk Base and about 8 miles from the Atlantic waterfront. Very easy commute no matter where you live in Southside Hampton Roads.
The parking at Hunter Mills was always plenty. Not just for me, but for my guests as well. They always had a place to park. I only knew of 1 incident where a vehicle was broken into since my stay there, but I really do not see how managment can be held responsible for that.
I read some of the other reviews and maybe it was just them....But I never had a problem with Maintenance. I did not have any serious problems while I was there. When I first moved in my AC was leaking water into my patio, but they were there same day and fixed the issue and took care of the water. I have had some drawers that kind of came apart but again they were there within 24 hours and corrected the issue. I did have a roach problem for a little bit while I was there. It was not anything outrageous, and when I notified managment they had my apartment sprayed on the Friday of that week. Then they sent in an exterminator to the whole building and after that I have not seen a roach in that apartment since.
Their policies are fair and very just and is what I expected at any other apartment complex. The staff in the office has always been readily available for any questions or concerns that I had. They were always friendly in person or on the phone and they always knew my name when I walked in. ( Which was not very often ). I would definetly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for an apartment in the Hampton Roads area.
