Don't Live Here

My family has lived in Indian Lakes for most of the past year. We moved to the Virginia Beach area and needed an apartment while we searched for a home. Thankfully, our lease will soon be complete and we will be moving out. Indian Lakes is terribly managed. They refuse to make necessary repairs. For example, since we moved here last summer the air conditioning system has not operated properly and we have asked that it be repaired nearly a half a dozen times and the maintenance staff refuses to repair it properly. They continually suggest that an air filter needs to be replaced (which they replace every time they come to "fix" the air conditioning system) and the air conditioning system still does not work properly. This is only one example.
Additionally, the Indian Lakes property has been the target of recent crime and while the management is aware of this and has promised to take steps to make the area safer, they have failed to do so.
Indian Lakes looks fairly good upfront. Indian Lakes is not in a terribly bad section of Virginia Beach and management puts on a good face upfront but problems arise after one moves in.
