I loved this place and hated to move but when the girlfriend split I couldnt afford it by myself. Parking sucks if you dont buy a reserved space but other than that no complaints. No bugs, great maintenance (usually there within an hour, even for minor problems), fantastic (and pretty) office staff. I had a HORRIBLE experience at another community (see my review of Linkhorn Bay) and when I went to Maple Bay it was like heaven. Bark Park, Pool, Fitness Center, Clubhouse are all first rate. If you can afford it, this is the best place to live in Hampton Roads.
My only real problem here was when a couple of college kids moved in next door. They were extremely loud at all hours and never answered the door when I would try to ask them to tone it down. All it took was a call to the office and they took care of the issue right away. My neighbors weren't real happy I suppose but I was able to sleep!

I find it hard to believe that we lived in the same community. How can you possible rate the noise a 3/5 when you have military jets flying overhead constantly? Hell, I'm a helicopter pilot and I don't have the best ears, but nothing in this world is quite that loud. You cannot hear a thing from your television (no matter the volume) when it's busy out (and that's frequently at night - such as right now as I type this post 6:15PM).
