While I am sorry for the problems that some residents of Mariner's cove seem to have had, I almost feel as though those reviewers must be living in a complex different from mine!
I have been at Mariner's Cove for ten years and have never experienced any of the problems discussed by these reviewers. I have never had roaches nor any other bug problem, staff is always friendly and extremely helpful, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and anything I need fixed is always repaired promptly.
My neighbors are amazing, very helpfull, and friendly. We have all gone out of our way to get to know one another, have exchanged house keys, and help each other with everything and anything. We even meet weekend mornings for coffee on the "stoop" (staircase).
Personally I belive that one of the keys to having a positive experience at any resident, begins with one self. Being friendly, having a positive attitude and outlook, and offering your neighbor a hand when needed, goes a long way.
Some of the reviewers have had what seemed like, horrific expereinces. However, I cannot help but notice how incredible insensitive and narrow minded some of those reviewers sounded, considering that that was basically what they accused and judged others to be. Living in a large apartment complex requires openmindedness, cooperation, and a positive attitude. No matter what apartment complex you live in, there are always compromises to be made because there are so many of us living here. Sure, sometimes your guest has to drive around a little to find parking, but it's like that everywhere you go. Yes, sometimes there probably are problems with neighbors, but that is the case anywhere you go as well. You may or may not have neighbors you like, but that is again the same no matter where you live. Nothing is perfect all the time. If you are looking for a fairytale Kingdom where only YOU rule, then buy a house in the middle of no-where and understand apartment living for what it is. A place enriched by diversity, ----, diffferent ethnicities, colors, likes and dislikes.
Mariner's Cove is a great place to live. It is close to the beach, temperature is cool, people are friendly, I have never felt unsafe (being a single female), my neighbors are fantastic, and I am content.

Whereas there is some truth in what this person says(like buying your own h'se to avoid all these problems) I was more perplexed than confused to see how much she defended this complex. Surely if you did read all these reviews a strong message should have been sent to you & hopefully the management that something is wrong here. If it was 3, 5, or 6 bad reviews then you would say there was/there is some dishonesty in the reviews. Matter of fact the more i read your review the more I felt like I was once again sitting infront of one of the staff members convincing me how great the place is & how I was about to sign myself into a lease I will live to remember. Are sure you are not part of the staff or a relative of one of those ladies in the office many p'ple say that she has her relatives on the payroll? Oh please, give me a break, you must have lived in a far worse place than this 10 yrs ago before moving here, thats why you see this as a paradise!!! Move around & you will see what a real complex ought to be

That manager is no longer there and her family where doing contract work so maybe you should get your facts straight .If someone is saying nice things maybe she feels it is nice out of over 400 apts you have a few who want to complain are you sure these are not the people who dont like to pay there rent and want to complain when they are about to be evicted I used to live there and had a great time and the staff where nice.Keep it up Mariner's not everyone hated it.

This is way to funny really, I come on here every now and then to review what kind of sillyness I am gonna find. I tell you these folks are crazy, I agree with the Author of the community is what it is. Sure I sometimes can't fine a parking space near my apt but I can not find an parking space in front of the door at the store or mall. Walking is good for you anyway so quit your crying about parking. As far as problems in the apartment, come on if you lived anywhere else you would have the same ordeal. I have lived in a few communities here in Virginia Beach, I am not saying that I live in a Paradise but I can assure you I do have a great apartment and a great location. I really dont have any problems in my apartments unless its something like a filter or light bulb. I pay my rent online dont need to bother the office for anything I go into the office for packages and I always get greeted friendly and with respect. These people who sit here and bad mouth where they live or lived it pretty sad. It saddens me to read all the negativity in the reviews. Why do you continue to sign a new lease when you know you are unhappy. I stay here for the convienience of the area and the safe atmosphere I am in. My neighbors are great and I rarely see anyone in my area because they are all in the Military and are often gone. So In behalf of the resident who enjoy it here at Mariner's Cove We hope to get many more good neighbors. I can assure you anywhere you go unless you own your own home you will have difficulties that is life.

Man...I have never seen anyone walking around whistling with a big smile on their face. Every time I see that Golf-Cart go around with office staff members, I want to just duck...because you get that fake, "Hiiiii." And when I see prospective people on the cart with them I try to get their attention by making the biggest unhappy face you have ever seen.

Anyone who believes that they fix things promptly is either an idiot, or has never had anything broken. When I moved in, I found three things that needed fixing in the apartment. They fixed one thing, and never came back. So when I found something new, I asked them again. They cam and fixed the easiest thing of the three. When I moved out after months of rodent infestation, the two more difficult of the three original tasks had still never been done. and my toilet had been running for a month and a half... thanks mariner's cove.
