I'm not sure what happened in 2008 or if it's the same resident posting several bad reviews, but Mariner's Cove is a good rental choice. I just moved in late last year and the property changed owners but the staff stayed with the property. I've scheduled several maintenance requests and they always show up on time and complete the repairs. It may be an older community, but I looked at EVERYTHING in the area before making my choice and this is the best value because of the good customer service and location.
I came from a very large city and lived in a gated community that was fairly new. I feel completely safe at Mariner's. My neighbors are friendly and always say hi in the parking lot. they added a bark park which is a nice touch - there are quite a few dog owners here...too bad they don't pick up after their animals.
Yes, you will get the occasional palmetto bug, but it's hard to avoid when you live around a bunch of trees - I had the same issue in a brand new complex.
You will hear your neighbors from time to time, but that's reasonable considering it's an apartment - If you don't like that, then apartment living isn't for you.
Overall, I would recommend this property - it's clean and the staff does a great job at making sure your needs are taken care of.

Anything positive about this place is definitely from someone that either doesn't have to pay any of their rent $ out of pocket or they work for the community...believe the anti-hype...I am a previous owner and there is no way that they have made that big of stride into the positive in the past year...pics tell a thousand words too. Definitely check out the pics that previous tenants have posted. They don't try and work with you unless it is time for you to renew the lease

They have put on new roofs and painted the exteriors, plus added a dog park and are now expanding the fitness room to include tons more equipment. I was leary at first since it's an older community, but just about everything is old here at the beach. It is a good value, clean, and well maintained. I've owned older homes in the past that were maintenance nightmares which were usually costly, so renting again is peace of mind that they handle the repairs and thus far, they've completed everything within one day. So, my experience has been great and I recommend Mariner's Cove.
