Let's Just say...this is our LAST YEAR HERE!! ;-[

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008

I've lived here since March2005, then my BF moved in with me. Let's just say, that the complex we live in isn't necessarily "eye candy". I mean, yes, for a 2BED/1BATH unit, $770 is NOT bad; however, let me just give you a run-down of how the living situation's been like at this apartment complex since I've moved in...
The fixtures (i.e. cabinets & appliances) in the unit are OLD. The kitchen floor is uneven & creaks. The walls are "paper thin" & you can, not only hear the movies your neighbors are watching (& can make out exactly what they're watching) but you can hear almost anything & everything that goes on in the next unit. It took my BF 1year of complaining to get more lighting in our courtyard. It is PITCH BLACK w/out lights, and when each complex's lights go out (& aren't replaced until several people call to complain that the bulb's burnt out before it's replaced) & NOT SAFE. My brother's car was broken into (a few months after we moved in 2005) & he had his entire stereo system ripped right out of his car. MY car was broken into in 2006 where my $500 stereo was ripped out. NOT TO MENTION, THE APT. COMPLEX PUT A "TOW WARNING" STICKER TO CLEAN UP THE GLASS OR IT WOULD BE TOWED when the morning that we discovered it was broken into- my BF called them to let them know that my car & another tenant's car were broken into before we called the police. What the hell'!' The laundromat is 9 times out of 10 DISGUSTING- washer spelling like pee & leaking (sometimes, without hot-running water),the dryer lint catchers full of lint, & TRASH EVERYWHERE. Now, I can't blame the laundromat condition entirely on the management company/maintenance- as you just can't control the other residents' trifling, dirty, inconsiderate asses. But, you'd think that the management company would have someone sweep up, pick up, & clean up the laundromats around here. It wasn't until recently (literally, only 2months ago...that they've hired decent maintenance- an elderly woman who really does an awesome job on maintaining the laundromats & sweeping each complex's stoop/stairwell). THE PARKING LOT is atrocious! There are potholes everywhere; and because parking isn't regulated- we end up parking 2lots over b/c our parking lot is full.
The stove runs off of gas...and, FOR THE 3YRS. that we've lived here- we were NEVER CHARGED FOR THE GAS...then all of a sudden, i open up the mailbox, only to find a GAS BILL for almost $60 (Nov.26,2007 - Dec.26,2007) W/ a payment due date of: 4/21/2008'!'!' W.T.F.'!'!' It took them 5MONTHS to bill us''' And the gas bill isn't even from a gas company. It's from "Renaissance Mayfair LLC"- a "random/suspect" looking bill, that lists the local leasing office's phone number to call--- not a gas company's phone number. Then when my BF called the leasing office to find out why we're just now getting the bill..."Ebony" responded with "...I don't know anything about the gas bill...It's not in my job description..." and proceeded to tell him to call back on Monday to speak to someone else about the gas bill. Wack customer service!
I CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE HERE!!
P.S. (An addition to the review above): Last year, the fridge- all of a sudden decided to "give up". We come home from work & ALL of our food had defrosted & gone bad. When my BF called the leasing office- they told him that all they can do is get maintenance to install a new fridge; however, could not reimburse us for/ help us with of our food going bad...ALSO, the time you have to take a shower here sucks! Because the hot water runs out in 15-20minutes, either (2)people have to take a shower together or (1)person ends up waiting 1hour-2hours for the hot water to come back...LIKE I SAID, I CANNOT WAIT TO LEAVE HERE!!
And just in case someone decides to ask me: "If you're so disgusted and dissatisfied with Mayfair, why did you live there for so long'"....this is what i have to say about that....When I initially signed a lease with Mayfair...let's just say that my credit was "not that worthy"; and I will give Mayfair "kudos" on leasing apartments to people with bad credit. However, since 2005 until Feb.24th of this year, I've been took care of my mother-- who rest her soul, survived breast cancer in 2006 only to turn around and be diagnosed with Acute Leukemia which she died from just this past February...also, I do not have the money like that to just up and move. So, I believe I have a legitimate reason for having to stay here....I just had no choice!

Everything this person posted is so true in a nice way. I just got the same gas bill and made a phone call myself and I got told that they don't know anything about the bill and then they just sat there on the phone. The number they give which is the office to the apartment and they can't answer questions. I feel the same about the apartments and I can't want to leave. Hang in there, and good luck!!!!!
