as out of townees do, my husband and i picked up the only place we knew of that would give us a place within a week. We got into a one bedroom one bath on the top floor. We have had a lot of trouble since then.(don't stop reading...) I am sure that others have nice things to say about the place but i will be honest. we have been here for three years. In that time our family grew as well as the price of the rent. It seams that our water bill goes up a buck a month.
the past: in our stay at the pines we have had some pretty terrible neighbors and a few guests that took up the hall that connects our little apartment buildings. we have had one neighbor hit the news for shooting and going on the run. and another who was on the run for auto theft. as well as another whom i am sure was a drug dealer or had really rich parents since he didn't leave the house but instead had lots of late night gamble and smoking up parties and even had a few of his buddies try to rip down the walls to get into his place and have a lovely gun fight out in the back lawn. and recently in the neighborhood there has been a suicide and three fires, which i am sure you have heard of.
The office and staff.... well i wish i could say they fix whats on your maintenance list when you move in but i cant. I am still waiting on a new bulb for my hall light, and that was the easiest they could have done. most of their ideas of fixing things is call in a jack of all trades people to fix things as cheeply as they can. Least some of the office ladies are cute so if you time your visits right you can always see some eye candy.
the outside of things: the walkways flood.... even if it a light rain and if its anything too heavy better park your car over at bottom dollar strap on some high rain boots and trudge through the water because my car has been halfway underwater least once a year. the drainage system for most of the area past Holland to Rosemont is dreadful int he rainy season.
The insides of things: As for their "new gourmet kitchen" its shabby and poorly done and even asking for the repairs on that still haven't been fixed and its only months old. Baths are small, tubs are fit for a child and the full length mirror is true, it is the height of the wall but not very large to start. The bedrooms are always colder then the rest of the house in the winter and loads warmer in the summer then the rest as well. I would recommend earplugs for sleepingif you are of the main road, and if you have to procreate use the floor and a good muffle gag so no one hears because its truly embarrassing hearing people diagonally and under you rock each others world. I must note that the ventilation is shared, one person smokes above or below you the rest will smell it and share along, same goes for those who smoke in the hallway. There is a bug infestation, Termites are big on the upper level porches and when the lights go out make sure you leave your porch door closed or you will be able to see several skitter around.I kept my porch door stuffed with old walmart bags under the door to keep bugs at bay but they still come in through the floorings where the carpet isnt put in right. I heard that one lady had a snake in her old kitchen... I Dunno if that was true or not. They do have new and much nicer porches but only the iron handrail and the old floor planks have been replaced with new plastic bits so the storage area is still all old woody and buggy. The kids in the neighborhood are loud, and pretty disrespectful. they love to hang out in halls and yell at each other and sit on cars no matter the time of day.
other stuff promised recreations: if you ask where the pools and tennis courts are you will be told there are 4, one at each corner of the block. in my time here, i have Google mapped it and still don't see such things except for the Green Run school...however, there is a swing and slide thing next to the overheated and over used laundry room, between the mail boxes I think it has a sand box too.. not too sure never paid attention. The laundry room, is accommodating but i would spend extra money to get your laundry done at the Washland so your laundry doesn't get bleach stains or still smell like moldy socks even after washing. Noise... Lots of jets always when its nap time or you have a headache and in the afternoon its yelling kids then its yelling people all accented by the lovely sirens from passing or incoming rescue and aid vehicles.
all in all this all makes the place sound pretty bad but the parking is decent, i mean for the constant parade of firetrucks, ambulances and police cars into the place, there is always space to get out and leave. The garbage is always cleared out pretty quickly and it is close to the mall and to many groceries. The location ins't shabby at all.

haha this place is a ---- hole, but i know the cute office staff girl your talking about. She had really long brown hair, tall, blue eyes, and really pretty face and she was the only one that seemed to care about what your actual issue was, unlike the fat old one that says she'll call you back and never does.
