We are military and decided on this apt complex basically without looking at it other than online. It has been OK, but not great. I have heard absolute horror stories about various other complexes in the area so I should count myself lucky to a degree. We havent had any roach problems or terrible neighbors. The apartments themselves are in desperate need of renovating. The 'paint' on the walls is more like sprayed primer (impossible to keep clean), the carpet is worn and the appliances are not exactly new and don't match. The walls are thin and if your neighbor so much as farts it is possible to hear it in your unit. You can tell things are patched as minimally as possible in between tenants. I feel pretty safe here... havent seen too many shady folks around. Don't get me wrong, I have seen and lived in worse. It is expensive to live in VA Beach, but I think these are over-priced for what they are. The model apartments and the internet make them look like 'luxury apartments' but they really are not. They are fine and I wouldnt tell somebody to completely stay away, but I think you could do better for the $$$$ elsewhere.
