In my experiences of living in apartments and rental property, I have found out that you usually get what you pay for. Well, let me start off by saying that I am completely wrong about this statement when it comes to Runaway Bay. First of all, I am paying a high rental fee to live in an apartment that has siding coming off the building which hasn?t been fixed for the 9 months that I have lived there, decks that are rotting and slanting from poor support, sink holes in the ground close to the foundation of the apartments, parking that is confined and no spots to be found after 8 at night, maintenance that doesn?t like to fix problems unless they are an ?emergency?, management that isn?t friendly unless you do not have pets or any problems with your apartment, carpeting that is old and stained (not to mention the other interior blemishes that are too numerous to name), and floors that squeak and walls thin enough to hear your neighbor using the restroom. I have just begun to name the issues that I have had with this apartment complex. If you happen to walk around the complex, you will notice that the grounds are beautiful in the front and around the pond, but the closer you get to the out-skirts, that all changes. Oh, and should I mention the fact that my car was vandalized at Christmas time and I informed management of the incident. They told me that we have security and that shouldn?t have happened. Funny to mention that, I have seen the security Jeep come through the complex at speeds too fast to even notice license plate numbers, not to mention suspicious people. So needles to say, when my lease is up in a few months, my husband and I will be moving to a more friendly neighborhood that does not charge me $10 if I leave my trash outside my door because it is late at night and don?t feel safe walking to the dumpster that is 2 buildings away.
