My husband and I were married in August and moved to virginia excited for our new life here. The sample apartment they showed us here at Runaway Bay was georgeous! All of the appliances were new and everything else (paint job, carpet, laminated flooring)was absolutely perfect. Then they handed us the keys to our new apartment and it was horrible! All of our appliances are old and rusty. The oven has been broken for a few months now. I've reported it and nobody has been here to even take a look at it. We are on the second floor and we constantly hear noise coming from all sides because of noisy neighbors. I keep the apartment very clean and there are still bugs. Most of the office workers are very rude too. Nobody picks up after their animals out in the yard. If you're thinking of moving here because of the "lake". Its not worth it. My dog jumped in and came out a slimy greenish mess! I'm a navy wife so i'm home alone a lot and i definately dont feel safe here at night either. There are some pretty shady people around here. I definately DO NOT recommend Runaway Bay! Don't even bother checking this place out! Its terrible!!!
