There is some truth to the below comment. There are no longer any sex offenders at summer sta, but there r some within a couple blocks. the crime is bad, i know for a fact. summer station is in the middle of green run and rosemont forest. the gang problem is real and serious. "wanna be gangs" are as dangerous as real gangs. they ae trying to prove and/or establish themselves. but there also real gangs. in order to get to summer sta., you have no choice but to go through these bad areas. and you cannot walk safely in these areas. if you do live there, lock your doors and windows and report any suspicious activity to the police dept. community watch programs are great and chimney hill could use an active community watch program. also, it is hard to get out of a lease. apartment complexes are a business. businesses must make profits. and if the complex should be in a bad area, the lease must be written to make it even more difficult to leave when the crime rate is discovered. that is true for any place, not just summer sta. some places r worst than others. i lived at summer sta. and i would have to say that the crime is bad, however some people don't have a choice because of the areas high cost of living.. summer sta is quite affordable. so if you choose to live at summer sta., just take precautionary measures as you would anywhere alse. there are way worse places than summer sta. but because of its geographical location, i couldn't in good conscionce advise you to move there, but we all have different opinions and wants. if you do move there however, and later discover the area is too dangerous for you, there is hope. because of green run, chimney hill and rosemont forest's reputation, you can pay an attorney a few hundred dollars (which is better than what you will get charged if you break the lease) and he can prove to the courts that the area is unsafe and eventually get the lease dissolved. but if yo do this (Get an attorney!) and remember : document, document, document!!! Also, use common sense and read your lease before signing. if you have a ', then ask and get it clarifyed be4 signing. good luck in your search.
