I want out!

I absolutely cannot write a favorable review for Plaza Apartments. First, the noise factor...my upstairs neighbors sound like a herd of elephants; in fact, I had to move my bed into the spare room, just to be able to sleep! No one in the complex watches/has control over their children...I've come home in the evening to see young children playing in the parking lot; blocking the entrance to the parking lot, and then they simply stare at you as if they don't realize that small body vs car, car probably wins! The staff are the nicest, sweetest people in the world...until about a week after move-in day. I understand that they are in the business of sales, but come on! I was yelled at for showing up at 4:45pm to pick up a package, b/c they were leaving...but office hours are until 5pm! Also, very condescending in dealing with them. Office staff lost one of my rent checks, which luckily they had entered into the computer, but I still had to deal with all the banking issues that come with it. Maintenance is not the best...coming home at lunch to find your toilet in your tub because of leaky pipes, with no phone or written message as to when they will be back and/or done was not appreciated...then it took about 2 months to patch the new drywall they installed!
I will say, my biggest issue of all is safety. I have lived here now for about a year and a half, and kept telling myself that I could hang in there until I'm ready to buy a house, but I simply can't do it anymore. The apartments are all equipped with alarm sytems, but if the cops are not nearby, it takes at least 20mins for a response...plus, while new systems were recently installed, it took more than a week and a half, 2 phone calls, and one very not happy resident visit to the office to get someone in to get a service call done on the new system.
Since March of this year...my car was stolen...there was at least one known incident of people waving guns around in the parking lot, someone ran their car up into the park across the street, drove across the street and almost ended up crashing through my bedroom, dropped his/her bumper, and kept driving; and just this week, my car window was smashed! I've been told that the police are paid extra to patrol the area, and we do see them on a regular basis; however, the minute they leave, everything goes downhill.
Suffice it to say, I don't feel safe living here at all, because who knows what is going to happen next! I'll be moving as soon as I have the opportunity!
