I moved here to waterfront back in july of 2006. I first moved into the older or should i say, "phrase I". The only issue i had there was it had a lot of spiders and the water from the shower would dye my tub red. i'm not from here so when i saw it for the first time, i was a little disgusted. then they told me at the front office that it may be that the water is harder here than were i'm from......ooook, wow....ANYWAYS, then i figure ok i'm making a little more money now so since i like it here, i'll just move into the BIGGER NEWER apartments, or should i say "phrase II". I LOVED it when i moved into it. BUTTTTTTT.....now it seems like i'm payin rent for others to live in my home......RATS!!!! i have never seen a REAL rat in my life and when i saw this rodent run across my living room floor under my sofa, i freaked out!!! i didn't know what the hell it was. Then I saw it again running back into the water heater closet. I open the door to see where it was coming from and the damn thing had chewed a hole by the pipes!! IT WAS A HUGE RAT!! ok so, this was like 10 at night....so by it being my first time i didn't really know what to do but to call maintenace. I called him and he came not only with an attiude but came in making smart remarks about him not being a pest control and to wait till the morning. I understand he "wasn't pest control", least thing i wanted to know was to know how to keep it from runnin out the closet and layin eggs or whatever it do. SOOOOOO, i wait till the morning after cussing out the maintenance for being so rude and unsensitive and had them send out pest control. I had to DEMAND for them to send pest control that day!!! THEY WERE GONNA MAKE ME WAIT A WEEK FOR SOMEONE TO COME OUT!!! So about an hour later, the guy comes and set up traps. 2 weeks later, i hear a screek, and i'm like what the **** is that!'!' Me and my friend put the tv on mute and we both hear it....its the RAT again. I open the door to see where it was at and it was stuck on the trap! I called the front office to see if they can send someone over to get it and they came right away. IT WAS A BABY. So i'm thinking ok, we should be good....but only problem is, that was a baby. it wasn't the big rat that i seen the first time. Then a few weeks later, I'm sitting on the bed putting on some socks and i see TWOOOOOOOOOOOOO more baby rats runnin OUT my laundry room into the water heater closet. OH now YOU KNOW i'm pissed off. So i go UP to the front office and i tell the manager whats going on. They send out the pest control guy to set more traps. Then the maintenance guy comes over after and patches up the hole so "no more rats can come in". Now a few days ago, i'll say about a week ago, me and my friend saw a HUGE SPIDER, not your regular outside spider....no, this spider was about the size of your palm and very very hairy. It moved so fast and it jumps when you go near it. We tried to spray it with bug spray, lysol, windex, anything you can think of we used to tried to kill it. It would NOT DIE. Soooo, i go to the closet to get one of the sticky mouse trap out and throw it on top of the spider and the spider literally pick up the sticky pad and ran off behind the fridge. By this point i was very furious and pissed off beyond anything!!! I call the front office BACK up again to have someone come and get this damn spider out my house!!! Maintenance came over and saw it, and was stunned by the size of the spider. He too was scared and didn't know what kind of spider it was. He called for "back up" but went ahead and stomped on the spider before "help" arrived. He took the spider in a bag to go show the size of it to the other workers. Later that night, we were laying on the sofa watchin tv, about 10 that night, we saw something run across the living floor AGAIN!!!! Turn out it was a frog!!!!!! So that next day i'm tearing up my house lookin for places that alllllllllllllllllll these creatures keep finding their way in, and I see holes from outside the apartment building. not quite sure how they are fitting in there, or if they are even using that way to enter into my home. I do stay on the bottom floor but i have never had this quite of problem ever before!! When i went to complain, they told me that I am the only person that has been complaining about this kind of problem. I'm not sure what to do anymore. my house is ALWAYS CLEAN cause i'm always here to keep it clean! I only have a little over a month left to stay in this dump and they won't even let me out my lease without a whole entire "investigation" that can take about a month. So whats the point''' I had no problems with this place and i LOVED IT here.....but now i HATE IT HERE and can't wait to get the HELL OUT OF HERE!!!! I'm moving into a much much MUCHHHH nicer place anyways. Its a lot more than what i'm paying here but damnit, its worth every penny!!! AND I GET TO GRILL IN MY BACKYARD and swim in a brand new pool that is WAAAYYYYYYYYY bigger than this joke of a pool they have here (that they never really clean) SOoooo, i would say yes, move here if you like every creature in the world to come live with you!

I had a huge spider also when i lived there on the older side i lived on the bottom floor. i somehow got a cup over it and put clorox and windex on the floor and slowly slide the cup overtop of the cleaning stuff and it went nuts and then died....

I feel your pain! I currently live on the bottom floor in the phase I buildings.. i hate it!! I've lived there since March 1st and I always have issues with the office staff. One month they LOST my rent check, another month my rent check didnt get deposited until 3 weeks after I gave it to them, this month my rent check got returned because of a discrepancy with my bank.. well I fixed the issue with my bank immediately and called the office and explained the situation. I said please re-deposit my rent check and they said ok. Well now, TEN DAYS LATER, i get a notice on my door saying that my check was returned and I still owe rent plus $80 in fees! NO! No one told me this 10 days ago when I thought I fixed this little issue! I swear I have some sort of rent issue almost every month. I don't think the office staff communicates with eachother! And on another note, I also don't think they spray for bugs. When the weather is beautiful, I wont even open the slider because then I always find spiders running around my livingroom. AND I hate that the cable has to come from Waterfront. That stupid satelite goes out when it rains, when there's a storm in the area... and randomly.. when its sunny! ANDDDD my internet disconnects and re-connects.. I'm thinking of breaking my lease. I can't wait til March. I hate this place.

I stay on the first floor too. I saw a rat in my place also while I was watching TV. The damn thing just ran across the floor. At first I thought I was seeing things but then I seen run on the side of my wall underneath the water heater door. I told maintenance about it and they said its probably because its raining hard outside and they will have maintenance over. I never seen the rat and I also never hear from the pest control. Yeah internet sucks here, Cable sucks here and the staff sucks here! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They need to correct their problems or they going to be the worst place ever to live in VA BCH!

I had problems with spiders at my porch sliding door and outside my front door, and would sometimes had to duck to avoid getting caught up in their web. But you can spray them with raid or something but I just got tired of doing it cause it just seem to keep bring them back. But in phrase II, i had issues with rats more than 3 time days and spiders numerous times....everybody says kill them yourself blah blah blah....yeah ok, you really think i wanna kill spiders everyday i come home from working all day???? and not just little spiders, i'm talkin about the really big ones that look like its on steroids. i'm not kiddin, you have to see it to believe it. I knew i should of took a picture so post but i was thinkin about it at the time when i saw it....who does???
