Ok here we go... Please i beg you all unless you want to have fighting neighbors at 3 A.M. running around crazy stay away. The lease has a clause that if you break the lease even if you are military you still have to pay.. Here is how it goes... so they say the apartment is valued @ 1300 but they are going to give it to you for lets say 900.. If you break the lease EVEN if you are military and have orders you have to pay the difference on the "discount" for the year so for example being that the aprtment was 1300 and you got a discount rate of 900.. when you leave you have to pay 4800 because they gave you a break and it was a deal. Also there are RATS !!! yes RATS!!! running around crazy. And a neighbor of mine had a muskrat in their apartment and even after animal control told them they can not put poison the masnagement ordered maintenance to put poison... They are a bunch of crooks and this place is a scam.

Who has rats? Because I've never had rats or even heard of anyone having rats. And if you didn't read the contract that's your own fault. I read my contract and THEN signed it.

I haven't had rats either, but I'm not going to dismiss it because in the last 2 months I've a)seen two dead (non muskrat, just plain old rat) rats on the sidewalk near the apartments, and b) have seen several muskrats up close to the bldgs. when the waterway was frozen over. Not to mention I've seen a large increase in birds of prey (hawks, falcons) circling the area during the day, and a grey fox prowling around at night. All of these are signs that while I don't have rats, someone definately might. So sorry, militaryrenter2007, just because you haven't heard of anyone having them doesn't mean it's not true. As for the contract thing, yeah it sucks, but it's definately in the lease that you signed.

I also had a rat in my apartment when I lived there. It was actually in the walls, and showed itself in my neighbor s apartment as well. Somehow it was also getting into our apartment. From what I have heard though, that is a relatively common experience when living near water in VB. As far as the contract, you signed it. You should have read it first!
