Was broken into TWICE

DO NOT move in here. It is really ghetto. My boyfriend's truck was broken into and then when he reported it, he was told my numerous neighbors that it happens all the time. There was no outside lights to the entire complex when someone walked into our apartment and stole my purse and laptop. Isn't that a safety hazard to have no lights on whatsoever outside. After an almost 1000 dollar laptop was stolen and all my ID's, management gave us 180 off the rent for next month. I asked if they were going to put out a notice that there have been reported break-in's and for people to be aware of their surroundings. They said they would, but of course they need business and they don't care if you have a newborn or not they need that check, so of course people who knew only knew b/c we told them ourselves. There is one lady in the office I believe her name is Stephanie, she's the one in all black all the time, she has a huge attitude. We hated it there. Everytime we vaccumed it was sucking up parts of the carpet b/c they used the cheapest carpet possible. They had everyone's cars towed that had just had their tags expire. They are constantly putting little notices on your door saying they tolerate this and they want you to do that. They went through and gathered up everyone's grills off the patios and put them in the back building where the pool and fitness room is. You are not allowed to have anything on your patio, which you pay for and they are allowed to have the rent so high b/c it has a patio. The "storage sheds" are crap. Our fridge light kept goign out and the office was called all the time and they woudl come out and just jiggle it to get it to come back on and then it would go out when they left. We stopped calling. You can hear people upstairs. My other neighbors moved out due to mold being in the vents, which isn't a shock b/c we had mold on the bathroom door. DO NOT move here unless you don't care what gets stolen or if you get jumped walking to your car. Don't be fooled by the "updated" office.....the apartments are crap!!!!

Your post makes me laugh - A LOT. No lights outside - I'm calling BS. Anyone can drive through and see the lights outside. Yes, as mentioned below in previous posts cars that have expired tags and inspections will be towed - that is a benefit - I like having only safe and legal cars around me. About your robbery - someone just walked right in and stole your stuff, sounds like an inside job, why weren't the doors locked? They don't care if you have a baby? What it your post supports that statement? I'm guessing you did something wrong and got all upset about and came here trying to bash Woodshire. I doubt maintenace would come and jiggle to light - more than likely it was working when they got there and could not duplicate the problem, maybe even replaced the bulb. Mold on the bathroom door? Why didn't you call that in? All in all your post isn't valid, you came here to bash them. I'm sorry that you were robbed - but that isn't the community's fault - unless there was less than required lighting but I have already adressed that. Grills were removed from breezeway areas because it's a fire hazard and propane grills were asked to have bottle removed because a FIRE MARSHALL did an inspection and was going to fine the RESIDENT, you would know this if you bothered to READ THE NOTICE that was put on you door - wow looks like they saved you. There are community grills availible at the playground/park area. After reading your post again it looks like you got robbed and wanted the office to fully refund you for your loses - which didn't happen so you came here to bash. Anyone reading the above post please know that Woodshire has its faults but has corrected most of the issues. There are bugs outside the apartments- its located near some woods- but the insides seem to be ok, and they spray often. The noise from above (if you are downstairs) can be annoying especially with a young child or pet running around - so live upstairs unless you don't mind the noise. And the walls are kind of thin, if a neighbor has a loud TV or something you can hear it. Parking at times can be a pain especially on weekends so I recommend purchasing a reserved parking space. I don't know Stephanie but everyone in the office now seems to be polite. People with dogs sometimes don't pick up after their pets. The apartment is kinda old but mine has a new kitchen and bathrooms. The carpet is new as well and required a few vacuums before it was fuzz free but is fine now. But what I love most is the location - in the heart of town center, 5 minutes from 264, 10 minutes from the beach, and 15 minutes from Waterside. LOVE IT.

The no lights did in fact happen one night, just ask the other renters...oh yeah that's right all but one moved out at the end of August. Let's see us, and the people across from us for the same thing...the safety of ourselves and property. The people next to us moved out b/c they started to have medical issues b/c of the mold. The girl that didn't move out has bought a gun to protect herself and is mad that she just signed a year extension and is locked into it. Is there a wonder at all that you see rental trucks in there all the time packing out, not moving in. So more then likely you aren't a real resident, you work there. You can call your BS all you want, but once you are a real hard working resident and you have to call the cops for your stuff then its best to get an alarm for your vehicle and a storage unit for the stuff that means anything to you. But yeah I will agree that you can drive by and see lights, but they were out on the night of July 31st. It is a wonder how it is a sue happy society that someone didn't take advantage of that. But it is very obvious that you are staff. I didn't want the office to recoup the costs of stolen items, I wanted them to put out a notice to residents that there is an issue and make sure that their windows, doors, and vehicles remain locked at all times, even when just going to your car to grab something. They won't do that b/c they need that money and don't want people to move out. Too late on that and it is called renter's insurance anyway. The really nice one in the office is the apartment manager. The upside to the apartments is that they do allow dogs, and big ones at that, which is something alot of apartments don't. People need to wake up anyway and actually buy a house and not throw their money out the window on apartments, but it is personal perference. The robbery was not an "inside job" and the door was not locked b/c the dog was just taken outside. So one person walks out with the dog and someone else walked in from the other way in the breezeway and walked right in. Now the residents upstairs are locking their doors just to throw away trash until their lease is up. And yeah of course just like with other apartments the walls are thin and so are the floors, b/c apartments complexs are made from the cheapest material and go up quick...hence that's why people need to buy a house. Let's go through the other posts and see how many other people are complaining about parking, theft, noise, bugs, attitudes from the office, and various other things. WOW it is more then just mine. Now I am laughing at your BS post. Staff shouldn't reply when it is their job to make it look good just so they can keep their job.
