Staff is Friendly, Quality of Apartments Isn't The Greatest.

I will say that I am very impressed with the staff at Country Club overall. Any problems with the apartment were resolved quickly and with little hassle. The scenery around the apartment is very nice as well. Cable TV was also very reasonably priced since it was on a group package in the complex, so we ended up saving about $20 a month versus going direct with the cable company.
The quality of apartments, however, isn't the greatest. I loved having a gas stove in the apartment, however I didn't like the fact that I never knew what temperature I was putting the oven on at, since the numbers had worn off the dial (I had to invest in a thermometer to fix this problem). The shower in the bathroom leaked, and the soap dispenser kept falling off of the side of the tub, even though it was re-stuck on several times. Also, we often had to keep the door to the bathroom shut since the toilet was also leaky and kept running. The flooring in the apartment desperately needs either refinishing or replacement. The upstairs water heater failed and leaked into our closet. The floor in that closet was completely ruined because of it, and some of my clothing was ruined as well. Also, the door to the apartment has no lock on the handle, only a deadbolt, therefore security is an issue. The locks on the windows in the bedroom were also broken. And if you're looking for fire safety, it should be noted that there are no hardwired smoke detectors in the building, nor are there smoke detectors in any of the bedrooms.. I'm not sure if that would make the apartments up to code in this state or not.
Our neighbors across the hall were fairly pleasant to deal with, however both of our upstairs neighbors were constantly stomping up the stairs or stomping on the floor. I had to often wear earplugs at night so I didn't have to hear the stomping. Unattended children were also a major negative issue with this place. And we had to go off site to do laundry, since the washers were often not working within the complex.
The part of town where Country Club is located is also very questionable. The police and fire department was at this complex several times during our stay to deal with problems, and you are constantly hearing about crime in the area. You are also right across the street from the Busch plant, so you always smell the beer being produced. Busch Gardens is also less than 1/4 a mile a way and is very noisy on the weekends. A time share is going in down the street, so traffic is going to be a nightmare in the future in this area.
I guess this place is ok if you're looking for a cheap apartment. My advice is to stay away from this area if you don't enjoy dealing with tourists, don't like smelling beer, and don't like dealing with bad driving on a daily basis. In all honesty, Williamsburg in general isn't all it's cracked up to be. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
