Rolling Meadows was my very first apartment complex and loved it when I had moved in. It large for only $725 a month and I couldn't wait to live there. However, once my lease had been up for a resigning I kept going back to the office several times to get it renewed, finally giving up. I never resigned it and when I told them I was leaving in March of '08 they told me I was breaking the lease and wanted 2 months worth of rent, almost $1500! I told them they never had me sign a new 6 month lease and I had given them sufficient time before I was moving. They said that was fine and I left, moving to Hampton. After a few weeks I finally got in touch with the office staff again about my security deposit they told me I owed them $800! I asked why and they said they had to replace the entire carpet due to a "smell." (Note: they were in the apartment 2 weeks before I moved to check the fire alarms...no one noticed a smell then!) I asked for pictures, any kind of proof, and was told "Oh, we only go by what maintenance says, we don't take pictures." So now they're trying to take me to court...which by the way is running on it's 9th month of not getting this delt with. I have to call long distance to their lawyer's office in Maryland to get any information and I still don't know what's going on! They sent a letter to my sister who lives in MD...the thing is, I've never lived with her and they shouldn't have had her address. I had to give them my new address 4 times! And they have not made the effort to call me, but the other way around. I would not recommend this apartment complex, they have no idea what they're doing and are not helpful in anyway when asked. Even though the size and price are reasonable, the staff and the dealings with them are not!
