don't live here

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived at the VOW for 8 months, and found it to be an overall horrible experience. I lived in a third floor, one bedroom apartment. The apartment was very spacious, the only advantage this apartment complex had going for it. On the occaisions I dealt with the maintenance department, I found them to be slow, unwilling to be of assistance, and very rude. My neighbors were friendly, but several had large dogs that barked constantly, morning and night. In addition, my neighbors below me often had loud parties with music blaring until 3 am on the weeknights. Perhaps the worst part of living in this complex was the lack of snow and ice removal in the parking lot in the winter. We had a huge ice storm, and the parking lot, and walkways were a solid sheet of ice for a week after work THE PARKING LOT WAS NOT PLOWED, AND THE WALKWAYS WERE NOT SALTED. As a result, my boyfriend slipped and ripped his knee open. Also, the parking lot was poorly lit, and the light illuminating the walkway leading to my building was out, for three months, despite numerous calls to maintenance, meaning at night, residents had to approach the building in total darkness. Not very safe, considering the robberies and domestic disputes which frequent this complex. There are plenty of nice apartment complexes in Williamsburg. Unfortunately, VOW is not one of them
