If you can stand a lot of noise and sub-par living conditions - this might be the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Specifically, I have several complaints. Be aware that the model apartment is kept up MUCH better than any of the tenant apartments.

For one, it seems that caulking is the solution to every structural problem in the apartment. There were loads of it in the kitchen and bathroom. Rather than properly removing it, layer upon layer was just added on. I actually got out my own tools and re-did some of it because it had mildew and was digusting to look at.

Also, the carpet is ancient and probably germ-filled. There are pest control issues - I am a "neat freak" yet still have had issues with cockroaches. Watch out for other tenants as well. Some of the tenants are very nice, but others are loud, obnoxious, and downright odd. My neighbors set the radio so loud that the walls literally shake! On severe occasions I have called the staff, but all I ever got from them was attitude (and no remedy for the situation). To make matters worse, before signing my lease I had specifically asked the management about noise levels and they said they were very strict about enforcing their policy about noise. As far as I am concerned that was an outright lie.

In addition, when I moved into my apartment the new paint job was very poor and it was obvious that it had not been thoroughly cleaned (dust and dirt stick out from where it was painted over). Also, the kitchen and bathroom had mildewed tiles that need replaced. (I could go on, but I think you get the idea.)

The nicer places in the area are a little bit more expensive. But a few extra dollars a month would be worth it. I had little time to look for an apartment when I moved from out of state and knowing what I do now, I would never have decided to stay here.
