This place sucks, but let's be honest: it's also one of the cheapest places in town. I could almost deal with crappy construction, piss-poor maintenance, and less than delightful neighbors for the rent I was paying when I moved in. I'll set aside for the moment the fact that the rent has gone up $100/month in the past 2 years with no increase in services.

What makes this complex truly intolerable is the management. The general manager is incompetent and ignorant, but I could forgive that. Unfortunately, she is also exceptionally rude.

When we first moved in, she said to me, "I don't run my complex trashy." Since moving in, I've had my bathroom ceiling cave in, an entire wall become moldy from a longterm leak, innumerable plumbing problems, a continuous gas leak, broken door locks, and countless other issues. Each time I requested maintenance I was treated as if the problem was my fault and it was unreasonable of me to expect it to be fixed. Several times I was treated as if I'd made up the problem. When I approached a manager about random vandalism I'd experienced in the neighborhood, I was told that I'd brought it on myself. All that seems pretty "trashy" to me.

For the price of this place, I don't expect penthouse accommodations. I do expect to be treated with respect and dignity.

I would also like to note, in case it isn't obvious, that the two positive reviews posted on 5/11 were posted by management. There is a reason this is the most reviewed complex in Williamsburg and the reviews are overwhelmingly negative. Woodshire is well beyond "trashy."
