I just moved here 3 months ago myself and I agree with the poster before me....

I'm in a 1 bedroom closer to the leasing office....

Space: VERY large bedroom, decent sized Living and dining area, small bedroom closet but large walk-in closet and a small patio. Fine for 2 people or mom child as we are...nothing extravagant but clean and decent for the price. I do hear my neighbors walking around on occasion but never after 10 pm....I do hear the occasional loud music but it doesnt bother me as long as it is not on a weeknight...most everyone here has a job they leave at 6:30 am for like I do....

Fixtures/utilities: Carpet was clean but obviously of the cheap kind (my mom works for lowes so of course we know about that LOL) . There was a fresh paint job, basic white. Gas cooking (they pay), You control your own AC (electric)/Heat (gas). Everything in the kitchen was new, but warning..you don't have a dishwasher or built in microwave so be prepared for that. Cabinets were fairly new, basic oak. Average light bill for my 1 bedroom was $65, even with the AC on all the time...not bad! They have comcast internet/cable and verizon phone. They just put new windows and patio door on my unit, which looks VERY nice! Plenty of outlets for your computer and stuff. Bathroom is basic, but clean.

Manteniance/Pests: I have seen a few baby cockroaches but one call to the office for a exterminator took care of that. They can come out every week if you want them to for free, which is nice. Maintenance came within 30 minutes of my service call placed on a sunday AM for my AC and they fixed it for me monday (i needed a new unit). Very friendly maintenance people!

Office/Grounds: you can pay your rent online with a $24 convience fee or the resident services center is open 7 days and there is a dropbox. People in the office are friendly and willing to help you. The grounds are kept pretty nice, just watch out for people who dont clean up after their pets if you let your kids run around in the grass....parking, my only complaint is the people with visitor passes (who live there, probably boyfriends not on the lease LOL) who park right up front for days on end hogging the prime spaces for people with stickers who are on the lease....but you can always find a spot within 50 yards of the door....the Pool goes to 8 feet and is somewhat small but is clean and rarely crowded. There are 3 nice playgrounds on site.

Laundry: Either walk to the next building over (which is open from 8am-10pm 7 days last load at 8:30 pm), or there is a laundromat open from 7am-midnight (last load 10:30) 7 days in marmusco plaza which is right in front of the complex. If it's a single load, it's cheaper to wash it on site ($1.50 wash, $1.25 dry) but if you have more than one load or have to do blankets, go to the laundromat. :)

Safety: I do see security onsite frequently walking about and driving and I have never had a problem. The 7-11 up the block, however, a lot of males like to wait for work in the AM (if you are worried about that type of thing) but I have not had a problem with them either. They always say hello to me and my son as we go buy ice cream. OK, the occasional beer for mom too LOL.

Area stuff to do: Veteran's park right down the street with a HUGE pool, baseball fields, basketball court, cookout areas, etc; walkable in 20 minutes.....walmart 15 minutes down rte. 1, potomac mills 5 minutes away along with every restaurant you could ever want to eat at, costco and BJ's 12 minutes away. There is public transportation (omniride) but it runs mon.-fri. only if you are going someplace outside woodbridge (if you work in DC or something), on the weekends it is a nice ride to the mall if you dont feel like driving. VRE is 10 minutes up route 1. The omniride bus can take you there too.

Overall I would recommend this place for someone just starting out. Not the best, but not the worst either. 3.5 stars out of 5 :)
