Cheaply made structure/appliances

I have to agree with previous posts in the aspect that these apartments aren't up to par with certain issues. While I'll admit, the neighborhood is getting better, police calls were a nearly daily routine to this neighborhood for one reason or another over this past year and a half since I have lived here. The structure of the buildings are cheap though, things tend to fall apart too easily and the heat inside the apartment never seems to work quite right. Insulation in certain rooms is a HUGE problem, as other posts mentioned. Also, the hot water heater is terrible. There are 2 bathrooms in my unit, and yet, both showers can NOT be running at the same time, in fact, after one person takes a shower, you have to wait about 30 minutes for the water to heat back up. The water usually goes cold quite quickly, even for the first person. Also, like many apartments, the trash compactor is a huge problem, as people neglect to put their trash inside and thus, it accumulates terribly! Perhaps this has something to do with the rodent infestation last year''' There are always maintenance issues in these buildings and rental staff frequently changes the gym code, with out even notifying residents (gym is 24 hr. but rental office is only open 9am-5pm, therefore, this could be a bit of an annoyance, as I attempted to go work out @ 5am before work the other day and was unable to due to this). Also, children are NEVER supervised on the grounds and I see them often times at the bus stop in the mornings running into the road!! Maybe rental office should address this with neglectful parents specifically and not just keep "reminding" them to supervise their children. Dog feces is also left all over the property and no one (to my knowledge) gets fined and/or reprimanded for this either, just a monthly "reminder" letter. I have also seen firsthand, destruction of people's property due to unsupervised young children playing ball in the parking lot. I have to admit, this neighborhood is still quieter than most, but we also will NOT be renewing our lease due to these other specific issues.
