-Gun shots in community in June 2004 and Sepetember 2004, called local police, response time was good (they are only 1/10 of a mile down the road.
-Had first altercation with a "friend" of a resident in July. This man was knocking on all the doors, but not trying to sell anything. Asked the man if I could help him locate someone, he then procceed to verbally assault me.
-Man on steps smoking marijuana in August.
-Between June and September, there would be people parked at night near the dumpster, the following morning used condoms and drug parapheralia where in the location of vehichles from the previous night.
-Verbal altercation took place with another tenant who dog was off of leash (leash law for all of the state of VA). Informed office of the situation. They said they would address the issue.
-This person then harrassed me by staring into my apartment and letting his dog defacate and urinate against my patio.
-Marijuana "dime bag" found next to my apartment building, gave to police and filed report.
-Upon requesting to break lease due to feeling VERY UNSAFE IN THE COMMUNITY, I was told that I would have to pay two months worth of rent, was also told that I did not give Habitat America (who runs the property) the opportunity to rectify the situation with the dog owner, they also said that they had police patrols....never saw the patrols!!!
-The man with the dog STILL does not leash his dog and continues to come by my apartment and looks into my windows.
-Children play in the streets and do not move when you drive through, also no adult supervision of these children.
-NO PITBULL policy, yet pitbulls are there.
-Constant trash around dumpsters, tenants would throw their trash bags next to the dumpster rather than in it..even though the dumpster was empty.
-Office staff and maintenance staff are doing their best to make it a livable community, its the tenants they allow to live there that are the problems.
-Over all I would not recommend this property!!!!
