Longview SUCKS!!!
We have lived here almost a year now and have wanted to move since the first week. To start when we finally got to move in here they had us in the wrong townhouse and we were told basically to bad. We told them we wanted a 3 bd w/den or 4 bd as we have 4 kids. We are stuck in a 3 bedroom. We asked to look at a home before signing anything and were told there wasnt one to show. Ours apparently had the maintence crew in here getting it ready for us. What a crock. Well we were low on money so said it couldnt be that bad, we can handle it. Boy was I wrong. We have had countless problems that maintence are dealt with fairly quick. Unforunetly quick is not always good. They just had to come back again.

The front office staff and Manager of the complex have absoltely NO customer service skills at all. They were so nice while we were signing the papers to move in. After that we get nothing but attitude every time we have to call for maintence. Its almost like we are bothering their busy social session.

Today they sent a letter around for some of the rules and polices for the complex, kinda a reminder i guess. Well at the bottom it says " PLAYING BALL PROHIBITED". I could not believe this meant in my own back yard (the little on you pay for), I figured it just meant in the streets and sidewalks or parking lots. Well knowing how this place is...I called to find out for sure what they meant. I was told there is a basketball court to play ball at. I said ok what about football or basball just tossing it back and forth between 2 people not a game just toss. I got a huge sigh was told to "hang on" and when the person came back on the phone I was told "ABSOLUTELY NO" for both. I asked why and was told a window might get broken. There are 3 tot lots here which are pretty much for the little kids (under 5). My youngest is 9 and now cant do anything outside as it is not allowed. There is really nothing for the kids who do follow the rules. Not all the older kids here ae "thugs" although trust me there are some here.

There is definetly a difference from the front of the complex to the back. They talk so much about comformity here, but when you first drive in it looks so nice with fresh flowers planted and grounds cleaned. When you start going towards the back it looks like a slum.

If you want a pet you have to jump through hoops for them. We were told all we had to do was make sure the pet was under 50 lbs and pay an extra $40 a month with our rent. So we got a dog. Well when I called to let them know what kind of dog she was and had to speak with the manager. I told her what kind of dog and automaticaly she started yelling at me saying the dog is way to big for this place. And I mean Yelling. I told her the age of the dog (4) and the weight (44 lbs) and continued to say that I was told under 50lbs. I got the huge sigh and was told I need to bring her down to the office so they could see how big she was. I guess they thought I was lieing to them. They had to take her picture and registration info and whatever else they felt like asking for. Its states in the lease no more than 2 animals at a time. Well that is not enfrorced obviously as there are a couple of peole with 4 or 5 dogs. Oh well nothing I can do.

If you are just looking, keep looking. Stay away from Southern Management if at all possible. You shouldnt have to live unhappy at all and if you were to live here you would never be happy with it.
