I moved into hell. No insulation - the place is freezing in winter, a steam bath in the summer. I'm afraid to turn on the heat because I wake up with a headache when I do - an indication that the fumes are not exhausted properly.

People throw their trash all over, drop burning cigarettes onto your patio and burn your patio furniture up. You can hear the people above you when they breathe! Even a normal person walking across the floor sounds like a heard of elephants.

It took me 6 weeks to get a hot water heater fixed/replaced. The appliances are old and use a lot of electricity. The trash areas are always a mess. Moreover, the apartments are owned by a company in Denver and the management doesn't give a hoot if you're happy or not as long as you fork over the much too high rent.

I even offered to move to another apartment to get away from my nasty, trashy neighbors - they found an apartment for me alright - and gave me the option of moving during the worst ice storm Virginia has had in 14 years and then said, too bad, too sad - you didn't move during the ice storm so you're stuck. I offered to move to another apartment early last year but they said that their Military discount quota was full and if I moved, I'd lose my military discount. According to the home office, there is no "quota".

There are cars taking up parking spaces that don't run - you'll see weekend mechanics all over the place. When the significant others come to visit you'll have to park in the next block to get a space because there are no assigned parking spaces. It's a nightmare if you're working later than 6 pm.

Leaves are not collected - they are blown back up into the entry ways. People dump their junk mail on the floor of the entry ways and the entries always look junky.

I have pictures to prove every allegation and enough e-mail trail requesting assistance from the management enough to go around the world twice.

Don't move in here - the sound alone is enough reason to stay away, the management is just awful and so unresponsive and if you're military - PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE - save yourself some misery.

What are the thoughts of people who are living here now? Have things gotten better or worse? How does this compare to other apt you may have lived in? Do the appliances work properly and is the lack of insulation and noise as bad as this person says?
