1. MOLD. There is rampant mold in the closets; they are painted over each time a tenant moves. Damp from severe leaks do not get repaired just painted over. Water tanks that are rusted and leaking are removed painted and put back.









2. BE PREPARED TO BE A PRISONER IN YOUR OWN HOME. There have been shootings, stabbings, people mugged when taking their garbage out at night. Children constantly harrassed from the neighboring Bayvue complex. There is a lot of drug dealing, domestic violence disputes, and overcrowded apartments with residents drinking and fighting in front of the entrances.









3. ROACHES, STRAY CATS AND FILTHY HALLWAYS. Roaches are everywhere on this complex. You can keep complaining but the company is not going to pay for exterminating. There are so many stray cats, and this month the Prince William Health Department posted notices surrounding the complex of a rabid stray kitten that children had come in contact with. The hallways smell of urine and some residents leave their garbage outside their apartment doors.









4. DAMAGE TO VECHICLES. If you have good tires and wheels, expect to come out and find your car on bricks or one jack. Not just one wheel but all four wheels are stolen. Car windows are frequently smashed air bags stolen and many cars keyed.









5. EQUIPMENT OLD & DISREPAIR. Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and refridgerators are in disgusting condition. Some of the equipment is fifteen years old and extremly dangerous.









6. GOT A PROBLEM' DO NOT EXPECT HELP FROM THE OFFICE. The office staff is overwhelmed with so many problems. On an hourly basis they are bombarded with insults, angry tennants with too many maintenance requests. They do not have the authority or the budget to do a good job. They can only take so much and do so little. They have been set up to fail by the company they work for.









7. MAINTENANCE. They are also overworked and understaffed. They are expected to put a band aid (or duct tape) on most problems. They cannot keep up with the fast decline of this property. They are encouraged to save money on all expenses and equipment and like the office staff, if they come in under budget they will get a bonus.









8. EXERCISE ROOM IS A DISGRACE. They show the weight room with such pride on your intial tour of the prperty. The Universal Gym is about fifteen years old, the cables are frayed, pulleys are broken. If you are thinking of using this facilty be prepared to be shutout on a regular basis due to vandals. The company will ask you to sign a waiver saying that you will not sue if the old and broken equipment they provide hurts you.




9. WHAT YOU SEE IS NOT WHAT YOU GET. If after reading this you still find yourself having to rent at Potomac Vista, you will be shown a very nice show model. The hallway will be clean and smell nice. Be sure to ask to see a unit that is available for rent. Check all equipment and test the water pressure.









10. DEALING WITH PROBLEMS CAN BE BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH. If you are a resident or become one be prepared for a lot of stress in trying to deal with any problems. There arre steps you can take to voice your opinion but it will take strength and constant effort. You will be labled a complainer, be told you are the only one complaining and shunted from one person to another. These are all tattics designed to wear you down and make you give up. The chain of command in this company is designed to humiliate and degrade you.
