I've lived here for about a year and I don't see where all the bad comments are coming from.

Our place was clean, painted, and ready to go when we moved in. The property constantly has improvements made to it - new road signs, hallways cleaned and painted, new mailboxes installed, etc.

On our particular street, we always have lots of parking spaces. It could be better lit, but it's not terribly bad, either.

Like any APARTMENT there is noise occasionally. A lot of people here have kids, so some noise is to be expected in the hallways. If it's really unreasonable (like in the morning, or really loud), I complain to the leasing office and they DO take care of it.

When we have needed maintenance it was always done satisfactory and in a timely manner. These are older buildings so things need to be taken care of - clogged drains, the mechanics inside the toilets giving out, etc. All of the problems we've had have been minor and were repaired without fuss.

The property has made a great effort working to keep drug dealers off the property. They now have "Private Property" signs so that they can arrest people for trespassing onto the property. A bunch of the dealers were coming in from a neighboring property and I haven't seen them around in awhile. They've also been working with the local PD in arresting the drug dealers (a bunch were arrested in October). They are evicting the people who were arrested for dealing drugs, but they have to do it legally.

This is a really good community for people with animals, especially dogs. The community only restricts certain breeds - Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Terriers, Dobermanns and Rottweilers - but allows other dogs regardless of size and weight. They provide free doggy pickup mits.

They also have a gym and pool for the residents. I used the pool all summer and it was well kept and nice. When we first moved in they were replacing some of the gym equipment but they have new equipment now. They had to chance the key codes for the gym after some residents vandalized the equipment (What the HELL' Why would anyone do that')

Staff has always been friendly and taken care of our needs - on the phone and in person. Never had a problem with them.

I wonder whether some of the comments here are from people who have been evicted or have ridiculous requirements of properties. I have lived in other places in VA and MD and this is one property I am really happy with.

One place I lived went down so fast with drug dealers - and the people there did nothing. People from their staff QUIT because they were told by their corporate office to lie to people. We had no parking there - sometimes had to park half a block away! Another place I lived upped rent from $780 a month to $1300 a month in the span of two years and we had our cars broken into five times while we lived there.

Compared to most places in the DC area, this one is well above average. It's a far cry better than the next property over, or most properties in Woodbridge, for that matter.

I agree, no where in the lease does it say "This property will be responsible for anything and everything you don't like" There are criminals out there people, they live in every town and every state, become a social worker or something.
