Whether its their over-zealous parking policies, horrible construction, or their nickel and dime attitude, you'd be better going to the UPS store and buying a large box. They give you this cutesy up-scale neighborhood feel, but its far from it. To start;
Parking --- Horrible. There are 3 guest spots by the entrance for the entire community. You could park in the middle of no-where where there aren't any cars within 50 spots, but you better believe you're getting towed. Room-mate had to constantly get temporary parking passes and constantly re-fill them out as his car was still in his parents name, and the registration had to match the lease, so they wouldn't give him the pass, even with his father coming in to explain to them. Then of course they complained he was using too many temporary parking passes. I had been towed 3 times. First two times, borrowed my brothers truck to help someone move. Parking pass had expired by one day (yes I know, my fault) and truck was taken. Went to pick the car up, $125 later, ($130 if you're paying by credit card) Tried to get to the office to get new parking passes but the office was empty, and by the time I got back after work, they were closed. Wrote a nice long letter on the truck explaining the situation, parked in BFE. Next day, truck gone. Get to the towing company (and same truck driver) told me not his problem. Last time was when I got a new car an taped my tethered sticker onto the back with a polite letter. . . still towed.
Construction--- Oh, sure the places look nice. I'm sure Chernobyl did too at one point. The minute you move in, you'll realize how piss poor the construction is. Counter tops/Cabinets delaminating. Rugs that brown if you stare at them funny, walls that seem like they could instantly just fall down. Had a pipe blow up (summer btw, so didn't freeze) in the wall. Call them to let them know and they rewarded us with two nice big square holes in our wall for two months. I finally asked them if they were planning to ever fix them, gave me the some BS excuse, then had it fixed the next day with the worst repair job I have ever seen, like they gave Hellen Kellar some play-dough and said have fun. The 837 gallons of plaster they used cracked within a week, and they never did paint it or fix the water damage that happened along the base board. The appliances were horrible. Dishwasher sounded like a diesel motor, call maintenance, looked at it "Wow, that s really loud. . . but its supposed to be like that. . . " The tubs stain the minute you use them, the chrome peels off the fixtures, the oven was a piece of crap, etc, etc. . .
Nickel and Dime --- At Belmont, they pride in offering services. . . but they'll charge you for it. Have two cars' That will be extra! In a 3 bedroom they offer 3 passes to each person on the lease (who all have to pay application fees). One of the room-mates move out, better believe they're going to make you pay to get a parking pass for an extra car. Want a garage you could barely get a go-kart in' Extra. The prices over high for the area, but that may be due to the fact that have to constantly (near monthly) send out letters reminding us of recommendation bonuses or offering free months rent to sucker people into moving in. (If you are considering that perk, trust me, they will get their money back from you one way or another) 60 day move out notice (where it's customary for 30 days.) Miscommunication between room-mates on rent due, were about $100 short in the total. Charged us the percent late fee on the entire rent. Above all this, the staff is generally rude (although they did have one girl when we first moved in that was really nice, Rihanna I believe)
Neighbors--- Piss poor. There are absolutely no reasons, a bunch of 12-15 year olds need to be walking around at 1:30 in the morning. There are people who can't park. People who were poisoning and killing the ducks.
If I had the choice, I'd rather get the bird flu while nailing screws into my head, than live back at that place. Don't move in.

Couldn't agree with you more. Funny thing is the day we were moving in my neighbor who was moving out told me to run if I can as he experienced same miss treatment and had found better apartments in the same vicinity.
