There are so many other nice complexes in the area, don't waste your time by looking at this 1. The office staff is horrible and beyond rude, The apartments are old and infested. They need to tear down and rebuild. Alot of the tenants along with myself are unhappy and there is nothing that can be done except to spend $$$$$ on bug sprays and beg to be let out of your lease. If you have small children be very weary of moving in here, you don't want them to be bitten.

I have lived at Dominion Yorkshire Downs for almost 4 years. I will concede that the units are older, but the maintenance is better than average, and it is clear that updates have been budgeted and implemented. Bugs? I think not. Occasionally a Palmetto beetle makes its way indoors, but that has been the extent of it. Children seem to fair very nicely. I enjoy seeing them play. Speed bumps slow the traffic down to increase safety for everyone, including the children. My neighbors are nice, the office and maintenance staff are friendly, accommodating, and helpful. I spoke to a newcomer who has lived here for four months with her husband and toddler. She is quite happy. My view of DYD is quite the opposite of Bugs.

Where are all these bugs that people are talking about? The worst I've seen are rolly pollies and I wouldn't consider those pests!

Where are these other complexes? Are you sure your in my neighbor? I'm not sure what problem you've had with the office staff. They have ALWAYS been nice to me and my husband. Don't sugar coat the bug problem a palmetto bug is a roach. I have had a few "make its way indoors" and for what my rent costs there should be none. They did do something though because so far this summer has seen next to none. Indoors or out. Last summer when we moved in I did not walk outside without my husband. I had the dog and he had the roach spray. They were EVERYWHERE! This summer I think I've seen two inside and maybe four outside. MUCH BETTER!! Parking does get annoying, but I really like my apartment. I don't think it's old, but maybe I live in a newer building. The outsides of all the buildings look nice, our kitchen is BEAUTIFUL, and when our neighbor's toilet leaked into our bathroom they brought in professionals and it looks better than before. It is very safe and I have no problem walking around at night with my little dog. I'm not friendly with my neighbors, but I don't have any issues with them either. I think whoever wrote the original review is mistaken because compared to the complex across the street and the trailer parks down the street our complex is great. Also the neighborhood behind our complex is nice with beautiful houses. Very quite and very family friendly. I would be shocked and furious if they tore my building down. The place isn't perfect, but I plan to stay here until I buy a house. Please respond and tell me where these other great complexes are because I've talked to people who live in Four Seasons across the street and it's really a crap hole. Go live there and then review DYD!
