My husband and I have lived in Golden Place Apt's for about 5 years.
They are in fairly good condition, and anytime anything needed to be fixed or replaced it was done very quickly.
We lived in a 2 bedroom apt, and had 2 off-street parking spots, we also had 2 indoor cats.
In our particular bldg there was a coin operated washer and dryer, as well as a lockable storage unit per apt.
The apts are located about 1 mile from Church St and are on a bus route, they are also close to the lake and bike path, as well a quick hop to the interstate.
We did have to pay for water/trash/and rent for our cats in addition to our rent..but it was still reasonable. ($775 rent, $16 trash, $20 water, $10 cat as of 2008)
Everyroom has a window (except the bathroom) and lots of closet and cupboard space.
I would say the downsides are that the buildings are old and need new windows/rugs, and that sometimes the neighbors are noisy.
Overall, it's a hidden gem and quite affordable for the area.
We left because we bought our first home.
