Well.....

We were kind of between a rock and a hard place, so we had to move in here.
First off, when we moved in the place was FILTHY. I mean, grease and grime build up in the kitchen that literally took HOURS to get off, dirty, gross, nasty carpet and linoleum. They said the carpets had been professionally cleaned, NOT A CHANCE!! I had to get on my hands and knees with a scrub brush and bleach to get the linoleum clean. All of the blinds were dirty, as were the windows. I spent the better part of two weeks discovering and removing tape adhesive. I had to clean the bathroom sinks with a RAZOR BLADE, that's how much buildup there was on the porcelain. Lots of damage to the interior, make sure you get everything noted when you do move in.
As the last few people have said, the floors are "broken". They won't do anything about it b/c "it's not bad enough". Within the first week of being there, our downstairs toilet backed up and sent water all over the floor. They didn't come to check it for 2 days!!
We had mice in our garage right away, we caught one and then informed management. Maintenance came and set traps, caught one, and then removed the traps and did nothing until I initiated service again.
My front door knob broke after a month, locking us in. We had to go out through our garage. Maintenance did come the same day and fix that, but caused damage to the door, door jamb and trim, and left their mess all over my floor for me to clean up.
Washer and dryer of NORMAL size, don't fit in the laundry room in the Marion floorplan. Ours has to sit in sideways, taking up the majority of the room.
The "walk-in closets" are a joke. They are very small and the layout just isn't right. All the shelving units are cheap metal "racks" with plastic fittings! They don't bear much weight before they start to show stress.
The trash area is downright disgusting. They have a compactor, that appears to only be run maybe once a week. With over 200 units, the trash really piles up. Most of the time, you can't even get to the compactor unless you want to climb a mountain of garbage.
There is NO guest parking, the garages are VERY small, they will fit a SMALL car, with not much room left to spare. The driveways are also very short, so you have to literally park with your bumper on your garage door so your car doesn't hang out over the sidewalk. You can see where everyone has tried to park as close as possilbe, all the garage doors are dented at bumper level. We haven't hit ours yet, but I'm waiting for the day lol. There are always unattended vehicles at the entrance to the housing area.
The "nature trail" is literally a path through the backyards on the perimeter of the property. It's not scenic at all, unless you consider scenic being close enough to get your leg ripped off by a dog. Not to mention all the trash and animal droppings in the "wildlife preservation" area.
The backyards are so small, you can't do anything back there, forget entertaining if you move here.
We pay, in my opinion, way too much for rent AND we have to pay gas and electric.
The kitchens are TINY!!! We had to get rid of a lot of stuff to be able to get all of our belongings put away. We've only been here for a couple months, and can't wait for our lease to be up so we can buy.
We have informed management of the condition of our neighbors residence (deplorable) they have done nothing. I'm afraid of getting more rodents, and bugs in my house. Although, the management staff has been very nice so far, this is an issue that I think needs to be taken care of right away, as it can have direct effects on the surrounding units.
All in all, I would NOT recommend moving here. I can't believe the Navy is referring it's families to a place like this.
