Mallard Pointe At Riverbend

I've lived in the community for almost 2 years. The apartments themselves are moderately nice. There is an ant problem, and the walls are very thin, but they are a good size and have washers and dryers. The downside to living here is it is hard to get maintenance on stuff. we had the fence right between us and the motorcycle shop get torn down. After calling 5 times my roommate and I simply leaned it back up. I had to call several more times before they had someone do a pretty crappy patch job. The women in the office during the day are rude, rarely answer the phone, and are totally unhelpful. However the nighttime ladies are great. The parking is jumbled and ridiculous. My neighbor parks right out front, my spot is on the other side of the next building. There is no visitor parking, so they must use street parking which can get filled at night. The prices are outrageous for what turns out to be a below average apartment with good amenities. Plus, rather than just charge you one amount for your apartment, they charge rent, plus water, and garbage and they charge you to bill you! Once my lease is up, I will be moving and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I like.

been a tenant since 2000, during that time this place was managed well and the managers were very friendly and accomodating to the tenants. there were not a lot of turnover and maintenance issues were addressed promptly. The next manager actually was a step up. They celebrated holidays with the community and were very responsive to tenant concerns. When Horizon took over they were let go and replaced by out of state people who don't give a damn about the community except to take your rent money and add charges. Service to customers were never in their vocabulary. My rent went up every year with no room for negotiation. After a year of planning I finally decided it was time to move out. To my surprise, my deposit was deducted for replacement of vinyl floors and blinds were never new and not spot clean when I first moved in. I left the apartment in broom clean condition, spending a whole day cleaning and vacuuming so it would appear in move in condition. But guess what, it was not good enough. They charged me for full cleaning and powerscrubbing. Total charges for me to move out hit $600.00. My next move is now to file a complaint to BBB if this issue is not resolve. When I addressed this with the so called manager who i think is in an ego trip, who suggested i go to small claims court. Dealing with this manager was like a crap shoot, her mood changes during the time of day. I always went to the night crew for any of my concerns, who by the way have been with the complex even before I moved there. They knew almost all the tenants and get along very well with all of them. One to my surprise became a maintenance person. No offense to her but I don't think she was to do the job.For current residents, i would start looking at your lease languages. And watch out for those additional charges. |
