We lived in Heritage Park for two years. Upon moving in we paid a $300 non-refundable deposit. We figured that was fine, it should cover anything minor that happens while we stay there.



We cleaned the apartment to where it was as good as when we moved in - though our carpet was brand new upon moving in. We expected to pay for a dent we made while moving. However, about a month after moving out we received a bill for $75.00. $25 of it was for the dent must be including labor at that cost. In addition, we were charged $5 for a stove part and they then informed us that the carpet was not clean - not true, in leaving that apartment the only "stain" on the carpet was a smaller than a dime dollop of toothpaste that we didn?t spend the time of day on. We called the management company, were transferred three times then ended up getting voicemail. It took a week to get a response and the manager said that we were to have steam cleaned the carpet or have had a carpet cleaning service clean the carpet. Nowhere in the lease does it state that this is to happen. And of course, our $300 deposit was not really a deposit but a "non-refundable fee" which the manager couldn?t explain what that money is put towards. The guy was basically a major jerk over the phone, he was totally disrespectful.



Regarding the complex, it probably depends on your neighbors as in any complex. We ended up living near one of the top maintenance guys. They weren?t bad neighbors until 2 or 3 am on Saturday nights when they?d wake you up from the bed squeaking and he and his wife/girlfriend moaning and such. Lovely way for us to rest on weekends! There is another apartment complex that backs Heritage Park that appears to be lower income apartment housing - during the summer months the pool isn?t monitored all that well and the kids form that complex use the pool quite often as well as the lounge chairs. If anyone bordering your apartment smokes the smoky smell will flow into your apartment through the vents.



Also not that when it comes time to renew your lease, they won?t lower your price to what they are advertising the apartments at online. By the time we left there we were paying about $150 per month more than what they were trying to rent the same apartment for.



Of all of the apartments we have been at through college and while being out here, we haven?t been charged extra for anything. Had we known then what we know now, we would?ve easily not chosen this apartment to be our "home" for two years. It?s too bad the management can get away with our money...
