I would recommend this place, but...

The currnet manager of Belmont Place is the only thing that stops me from recommending it as a place to live. Without being to specific, for liability reasons, this individual can be moody. If you catch this individual on a bad day, it becomes very apparent that this person has a lack of people skills.

Unless you have an absolute emergency, it's a safe bet that any problem you have with your apartment will take a long time to be solved. A good example is a common area light being out for over a month. When you finally get help you will probably be immediately informed in a curt manner that you will pay for the problem if you did it. This is understandable, but not before the cause of the problem is known.

The apartments themselves could stand better soundproofing. You will hear your upstairs or downstairs neighbors conversation if they talk slightly above a conversation level. This is probably because of the material that the apartments are made of. It is most noticable when you attempt to hang a picture and you can pull the nail or screw out by hand. Most of the appliances are old and in need of replacement.

The good thing about the apartment complex is that it is modestly priced, especially for the neighborhood. Some of the apartments even have fireplaces. You will have access to a decent size pool, but the so called "exercise room" is slightly larger than a closet and has a couple of outdated exercise machines.

The location of the complex means that other than the occasional emergency vehicle siren, or honking traffic at rush hour, you will not have many outside disturbances (Other than the neighbors conversation). Parking is okay, with the option to get secured parking for an extra charge.

The complex is walking distance to stores, restraunts, bus stops and a park with a playground. Because of it's location, people with children will have access to good schools.

For the most part, your neighbors will be friendly, but, as anywhere, you can find the occasional grouch. If you're neighbor isn't willing to work with you, this is where the manager's lack of people skills is once again very apparent. Instead of being a mediator,as most managers are, this manager seems to make the situation worse.

Overall, if you are looking for a modestly priced apartment in a fairly decent neighborhood this apartment complex can do the job. The only thing that stops me from actually recommending the place is my issues with the manager. If the current management is replaced, this would be an excellent place to live.
