Comments:
The best thing about Borgata apartments is the fact that it is in a great location. It it situated right in heart of downtown Bellevue on Main Street and Bellevue Way. Apartment sits directly across from the Bellevue downtown park, and is a stroll away from the Bellevue mall. The downside to this is that since it is in a prime location, it is quite expensive.
Overall, Borgata apartments have good floorplans. It is a smaller apartment complex comparably with other properties. The units are decent sized for Bellevue, not too small, I wouldn't say their spacious for the cost of living there. Floorplans are unique, and they have several to choose from. The outer-facing units, of course, cost much more than ones facing the small courtyard, the most expensive facing the park and the city.
The apartment is quiet for the most park. Mandatory quiet hours are from 10PM to 8AM, which means that if you walk heavily in your apartment during these hours, you'll most likely get a complaint from the unit downstairs. The average age of residents of complex is pretty much 50 . The demographics range from middle-age professionals to retirees, but the great majority of residents are well-off and retired or at least getting there (in other words, don't expect too many people under 30).
Having list the advantages of living at Borgata apartments, there are quite a number of disadvantages to living there. Up front, the cost of living in the property is quiet expensive. You can get a price sheet from their website, but for example, an 1100 sq.feet property is roughly $1600 (as of 2004). Now this price includes only 1 parking space (additional one is $150, if you can get it) and does not include utilities, water, sewer, storage. Adding all the other costs together including 1 additional space, you'll be looking at roughly $1900 for a 2 bedroom, 1-2 bathroom apartment (as of 2004). This is either good or bad for you, depending on whether you can afford it or not.
The other major problem with the complex is its staff. Now I personally have lived in apartment housing for 7 years, and it's the first time I've had significant problems with the apartment manager. I'm pretty much of a quiet fellow who pays his rent on time and who doesn't even submit work orders unless it's absolutely necessary. However, the apartment manager at the complex is the first one I've met who is quite rude to the point of being confrontational. I've passed by on occasions where residents were explicitly unhappy and have gotten into shouting matches with her. I've also had the unfortune experience of actually having to deal with her on a few times. I've gone out of my way to avoid her by using the side entrance to the apartment. You'd think that for the price you pay for a place like this, you wouldn't have to put up with a bad staff.
Other small complaints about the place include the very limited parking choices available. You'd have to pretty much have beg the manager to get a second space and then put up with her crap and wait a few months to get one (while she smiles at you and grumbles behind your back). Also as stated, utilities are not included, but will add about $75-130 monthly to your bill. The east-west facing apartments tend to get to 90 inside during the months of June-August, and since the complex does not have AC, you'd better invest $200 to get some good fans in each room.
Overall, I'd say the Borgata apartment complex is a good place to live if you don't mind the cost or the staff. If you like being within walking distances to downtown Bellevue and can afford it, you might look it up. If you are thinking about moving in, just be sure to avoid dealing with the manager as much as you can and you'll should be OK.

Thank you so much for this informative review! My husband and I were in there this past weekend, looking for an apartment, and I was amazed at the rude attitude of this manager! I thought maybe it was something I was doing to offend her, so needless to say your review gave me some relief. Thanks again!
