I would like to warn anyone who is either thinking about renting an apartment or anyone who is currently residing in Emerald Ridge Apartments. I moved out on January 31, 2004 which was the end of my 6 month lease. I would like to first state that out of the 180 days that I lived there, I was home a total of 65 days(I travel due to my job). I cleaned the apartment, and then hired professional movers to move my belongings. The movers left 3 small black smudges in the hallway and I left 9 small nailholes. The carpet was stained and appeared to be very old when I moved in, so I made sure that I documented the condition of the carpet on my move-in sheet. Long story short, I was told by the Leanne Kruse, the apartment manager, that she was going to charge me $350.00 to paint the apartment, 300.00 to clean the carpet, $90.00 to clean, and $15.00 to fill in the nail holes. Needless to say, I am taking ESSEX TRUST PROPERTY DBA Emerald Ridge to small claims court. BEWARE !!!!!
