I'm surprised at all the horrible reviews here. I'll grant you that Emerald Ridge isn't the Rolls-Royce of complexes, but I've had no issues with the place. In fact, I just re-upped my lease for another 8 months.

As some have pointed out, if you have dogs, especially big ones, this is a great place to live. Mercer Slough park is just across the street, which is nice for both long and short walks.

As a dog owner, I get annoyed at those who don't pick up after their pets, as well. Especially since the management has pick-up bag dispensers *all over* the complex. There's simply no excuse not to.

I haven't had noisy neighbor issues, any problems with revving cars, or anyone smoking "illegal substances". As a recent ex-smoker, I'll point out that management has often put up signs asking smokers to be considerate and for people on the recieving end of second-hand smoke to talk to their smoking neighbors about it. If someone had asked me not to smoke on my balcony, I would've been considerate enough to go elsewhere. Maybe that's just me.

The management has always been responsive and considerate. When I was at the end of my lease and waiting to hear if my company was going to transfer me to another city, they were willing to work with me and not immediately slap me with exhorbitant fees for being month-to-month.

Yes, the parking is bad, especially while all the roofs are being redone. However, I have to say I've yet to live in a complex here that *doesn't* have tight parking. And, if someone parks in your spot, you call the towing company to take them away. (Has happened to me once in six months of living here.)

Like I said: It's not the highest-end of complexes, but the price is reasonable, it's incredibly close to downtown Bellevue, and you can't beat it if you have large dogs. I generally can resolve any issues I have with neighbors by *talking* to them, but again, maybe that's just me and my building.
