DEFINITELY avoid!

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2003
First off, I lived here from 2003-2007 - this site isn't saving "Years at this apartment" properly.
Four years ago I gave this complex a glowing review. It WAS a nice place to live then - but it has gone COMPLETELY downhill. Gary, the original property manager, passed away and the person they hired in his place is absolutely horrible, deceitful and evil.
When I bought my house in Feb of 07 I gave two full months notice to the landord. When I returned after work on the last day of my lease to pick up the last few things, meet someone I was giving a large entertainment center to and do some cleaning I found the locks of my townhome had been changed. I called the property manager and he informed me that my lease had expired at noon that day and anything I'd left behind had been put in the TRASH. When I got to the dumpster I found the entertainment smashed into pieces, three perfectly fine IKEA floor lamsp broken in half and shoved in the dumpster, my toolbox in the dumpster and four boxes of my personal belongings strewn among the trash as well. One of those boxes contained PHOTOGRAPHS from my grandparents - IRREPLACEABLE PHOTOS as my grandparents are gone and I don't have the negatives. And missing was my aluminum step ladder.
The arrogant prick of a property manager showed up as I was frantically digging my belongings out of the dumpster and when I asked him where my ladder was he said he "hadn't seen" one. When I pulled out my cell phone and told him I was about to call the police he casually strolled away as I yelled after him - and returned a couple moments later with my ladder. How surprising!
YES - when I read my lease I found out it had indeed expired at noon (what lease expires at NOON') but that does NOT give a landlord tohe right to toss your personal possessions in the trash. BY LAW they have to let you know that they have some of your items and hold them in safe storage for I believe it's 30 or 60 days. I could hyave taken this ------- and the management company to court but I just didn't want to ------- deal with it. I had lived at this complext for FOUR YEARS and ALWAYS paid my rent on time. I did call and speak to some smarmy prick at Coho Management but he was a condescending ass and I was getting nowhere so I ended up hanging up on. If this was how they treated good tenants it scares me to think how bad tenants were treated! Drawn and quartered'
So unless you want to be treated like complete ---- - and your belongings as well - AVOID this place at all costs. If you've already made the mistake of moving in here - GET OUT as soon as you can. They obviously have NO respect for their tenants. I saw rats there as well the last year I was there (one ran right across my foot in the carport one night!!!) so I'm not surprised at all to hear they're now inside the walls of units. Someone needs to call the Board of Health on these slumlords and get the book thrown at them and/or these buildings condemned.
One other thing to add - when I originally leased this place it was because I found it on a "Places with Pets" website. The original property manager was VERY pet friendly and I only had to pay a small deposit for my dog and cats. Just before I was moving I was informed it was becoming a "No Pets" complex which thankfully, wasn't going to affect me since I'd bought my home. If I had not been moving I had only ONE MONTH'S notice to vacate because I had pets. They were also jacking the rent THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS!
AVOID this filthy, unfriendly, badly managed complex!!!
