Or live here, if you want additional stress in your life. The worst thing about the Lakes is the staff. The office staff are incompetent, slow, and unfriendly. The maintenance folks mean well, but are ineffective due to the fact they're forced by the office to cut corners. The result is shoddy workmanship; they'll come by to look at the problem buy it probably won't get fixed. The second notably bad feature are the birds. It's nice to see a duck everynow and then, but be prepared to avoid the large landmines of goose poop. It makes the pavement slippery and good luck if you're trying to make your way to the laundry room in the dark. The birds are also loud and somewhat unpredictable , and when I was there residents were warned to be wary of them. Hard to do, since a pack of them will be lounging on the path between your apt door and car. Note also that the rent is not a steal -- it seems higher than average and there are no in-suite laundry hook-ups. Also, no recycling on the premises.
